Where can I shoot?

I am not a Wyoming resident and haven’t researched your states laws. You may want to verify this statement
”Since I live in Wyoming, I believe my Wyoming Drivers License is essentially a concealed carry permit in all but a few states.” I know it wouldn’t fly in my state.

if you really want to travel with a handgun, getting a Wyoming permit may be a good investment. You can look here:

As always, I may completely wrong.

You are right. My rights to be a cowboy (open carry) or a CCP in the cowboy state only applies in the cowboy state. I have no rights as a Cowboy when I leave the cowboy state. I believe getting a CCP here would be easy only it will take 90 days to get it. I guess I have lived/traveled for 30+ years unarmed, I should be safe for another 3 months. I could always carry a locked gun case with a brick or two in it and throw it at someone if needed.

There is good reason why a baseball bat is a great thing to have right inside your camper door.
Lots of RV owners do this for all the BS reasons associated with firearm laws.

And again, that’s exactly why we need some uniformity here, like some kind of a national CC reciprocity law.
Can I get an Amen?

You mean the very simple right to bear arms?

yeah, that already exists...

Nearly the same for Idaho.

We also have constitutional carry.

While I live in Wyoming I have to drive to Idaho, IF or Pocatello if I want to go to a Home Depot or Costco at least two hours away. Even though I live in the Cowboy state which think has the laxest laws and the most guns per capita I don't see anyone open carrying in NW Wyoming, which is a rare part of Wyoming where liberals outnumber true Wyomingites. My wife is always shocked when we go to ID to visit the big city and see people open carry. I have seen a dad in a grocery store to carry his little girl his hip using his semi-auto pistol to support her weight. We were at Home Depot and an 18 looking kid, small, skinny, wiry cowboy, has what looked to be a 44mag strapped to his leg. The gun was so long compared to him he could not walk right, he looked like Chester from Gunsmoke hobbling around the store.

Probably stating the obvious but there are many types of gun safes designed to be mounted in a vehicle or even home safes that could be mounted in your RV. I think using one would mitigate many legal and safety risks associated with carrying firearms while traveling.

I don't know they need to be mounted, at least in California I don't see reference to that. It makes sense to have a few mounted safes though. To keep your laptop, electronics and firearms secure, while you are away from the vehicle. I often carry my valuables when I go out but carrying a backpack with a pistol to dinner is different than my camera bag.

I do know that at least at one point, nothing more than a pistol bag with a padlock on it "passed" the gun in a locked box requirements.

Probably doesnt pass the sniff test any longer ;)

I'm really happy with the Vaultek VT20i, although I think it's been replaced with a newer model. The fingerprint scan works great as long as you don't have a bunch of goo on your fingers, and the key is not the low security barrel type. For me, I'd feel much less safe with a bat or gun unsecured in the vehicle than with nothing at all. I think the statistics favor these items being used against their owner over being used by their owner against a bad guy if they are not secured.

“Fishing. If you have a valid fishing license in the state of CA, you may carry a loaded weapon, concealed or otherwise, on foot, to, from or during the act of fishing”

That’s so cool! I’ve always wanted to go fishing with a shotgun... that definitely would increase my chances of success ?
That's the Denny Crane way.

I consider adding a baton, but in my search for gun laws I found baton laws. Turns out they are almost as regulated or more so than guns. Is a bat considered a baton? Because unless you also have cleats and a mitt it might be hard to rationalize its use for sports. You probably won't get into trouble for carrying it until it gets used outside in defense. I have a 3' breaker bar in my truck. I consider it a dual purpose tool.

For most, I doubt it matters.

At the end of the day its a great alternative to a firearm for self defense when firearms might be regulated to the point of being banned.

A baseball batt is a baseball batt, and can be argued as such until used for something other than for baseball.
In many (over) regulated areas, it might very well be your best option to have something on hand for self defense that is 100% legal until used...

A baseball bat carried for the purpose of defending yourself, is legally considered a "deadly weapon" in every state I've ever lived or worked in.

From Idaho, for example:

18-3302...
(b) "Deadly weapon" means:
(iii) Any other weapon, device, instrument, material or substance that is intended by the person to be readily capable of causing death or serious bodily injury.

If you want to keep a little distance, wasp spray is another 'everyday' item that can be used defensively
yup works good and the perp will eventually need medical attention. My wife is a speech pathologist in a school and they have a can of wasp spray in every room.

Soooo..... when Chuck Norris crosses state lines does he have to register himself as a deadly weapon?
