Thanks for the feedback guys. I had been researching to replace the batteries in both mainly because I have had the LR3 for four years and had never replaced the battery and was willing to bet it was not new immediately before purchase etc. So I was looking to do both vehicles.
Yesterday morning the radio in the wife's range starting cycling on and off about every 30 seconds to a minute. So I wanted to see what I would need in case that was the issue. I checked for moisture in the left rear area by the modules (nav, bluetooth, etc.) did not see any signs, so I pulled the battery. I cold not see a date on it. It had 2 8 07 etched in the negative post but 0213 at the end of the serial number. It was a land rover battery, could have been factory original June 07 build date, or new since we bought the vehicle December of '13. Either way it tested at 500 CCA (listed at 800) at one location and 415 CCA at the second. The first location did not have the interstate battery in stock and not odyssey dealers or sear nearby. I ended up getting a platinum battery at Advance Auto parts, 900 CCA over the gold which had 950 CCA due to the three year warranty.
Good news is, it appears to have been the source of the headache. I am driving it today to see how it does. 20 minute commute issue free.
Unrelated I think: I noticed that the RPM's fluctaute between 500 and 900 while it was warming up. It don't drive it much so I can't tell if this just started or has been going on for a bit. It is my wife's car and she just gets in and goes. She does report anything obvious but does not really listen for performance changes etc. Any thoughts?
