Which Replacement Jeep Wrangler Seats?

My seat has collapsed. Jeep TJ seat that is. Has anybody replaced Wrangler seats and how did that work out?

Reclining seats are a must but I think I can live without the passenger tilt forward mechanism if thats what it takes. I've found a couple of reasonably priced candidates but there isn't much on the web that suggests whether they're any good.

(All prices for two seats including brackets from Quadratec for comparison.)

Corbeau Moab $590.

Rugged Ridge RRC $590

Bestop Trailmax II $550.

Rugged Ridge Premium $500.

Finally I know these are good but they're also twice the price...

MasterCraft Baja RS $1274.

Thanks in advance. :)

Cheers,
Graham

Graham, have you checked out any of the local salvage yards. They should be able to find you a good set of used seats out of a TJ/LJ pretty reasonably priced.

The salvage yards round here never have Wranglers. The location of the Jeep graveyard must be a closely guarded secret!

Occasionally somebody is parting a TJ on craigslist but the newer ones never seem to have front seats for sale.

I'm still looking though...

I have Corbeau A4's in my Rubicon and have not missed the factory seats at all.

However if I was doing it again I would vote for the MasterCraft Baja RS with seat heater option.

My wife also liked the 4 point harness over the lap/ slash belt on rough roads.

Right across the OH border from me, and if you need a Jeep part they are your best bet for getting one. Favorite yard for the local Jeep people and have a fairly good rep, though I have heard of the occasional complaint. Their number is 1-330-337-5037.

I had a set of Beard's (non recline) in my VW Baja that I loved. Very supportive and kept you in place during off road driving.

No kidding. It must be about time to visit the in-laws in Pittsburgh...

Hey

Do a search and check with your local Jeep clubs; somebody is bound to have a single seat or a pair of seats for you. Before you buy any seat, you should try sitting in them first. I sat in some corbeau's but they were way to small (narrow/tight) and just didn't feel comfortable for me.

I have a set of the Best Top seats in my Commando. I'm real happy with the comfort and the quality. I can't speak for the exact set you linked too, but I'm sure their quality is the same throughout the entire line.
