Who would be interested in a 2012 "End of the World" Maya Rally?

Who wants to be at the end of the world in a hotel.......? I guess if it had a "REALLY GOOD VIEW" and spectacular room service. :sombrero:

Campers: Dont worry about the weather this time of year as it cools down nicely in the evenings. 60ish is perfect sleeping weather and the humidity isn't so bad either. There are a lot of great places to camp but don't be expecting great facilities.

Really looking forward to this event - its a great way to spend your last days.... or just celebrate the new beginning!

just fyi, I think we are okay right now in term of volunteers. We will most likely need some help later so I will post something up again.

However, if anyone has some local contacts who could help with car "donation" either in Guatemala or Belize, please let me know....

Regarding car donation if the event is in the south of Beleize you may check with a group called TIDE (Toledo Institute for Development and Environment). http://www.tidebelize.org/

They are out of Punta Gorda and are (were when I was working with them a decade ago) a decently well rooted organkzation that could benefit from a donation.

Thanks again for your work on this.

All right, looks like camping it is. We just wanted to make sure, as organizing a camp big enough for 50 vehicles is another challenge in itself.

But as you may have guessed already, we are in good hands. I am super stoked to announce that NoLimitX is one of the main co-sponsors and helping us for the arrival celebration and logistics!

There is no doubt that their vast experience in that area will contribute to make this a success.

We are looking into every site possibility, thanks for everyone who have made suggestions.

okay another question for everyone:

once you get to Guatemala, after a couple weeks on the road, and it's hot and humid in the jungle....would you prefer to camp or stay in a hotel?

Me personally, I like the camping idea. Yet, at least once a week I would want a shower, not a camping shower but a real shower. Especially before "the big" party. :)

I started working on my wife this weekend about going. We will see.

My wife started working on me this this weekend "we need a RTT, and a swing-a-way tire carrier, and slide out fridge, and those wire thingies that go from the hood to the roof rack....are we going to take the land rover or the land cruiser, or both...??" She had a Jeep when we met, but I never saw this coming... It could be a very costly Q4.

Will people be using HAM, CB or both?
