I had to search my photo albums to find this fellow, then scan it and try to get it onto this thread. Hope it works.

We were on a day trip from Pta Bufeo, Baja California Norte, when we spotted this guy. We had stopped at the old oasis and were nosing about when this ram began to head-butt the rock just to the right of him in the pic. He seemed to object to our intruding on his watering hole.

We watched him for a minute and then drove to a spot about ½-mile away where we could still see him with binoculars. None of us had a decent telephoto lens, so this rendition is of poor quality, nonetheless, a Desert Big Horn Sheep.

In British Columbia, horses seem to be more stubborn than cattle when it comes to owning the road. Then there was this ptarmigan who seemed to object to our leaving his campground.

Can anyone (Flywgn? Ursidae69? Jonathan Hanson?) tell me what the heck this Peacock was doing along the Salmon River, near Shoup, Idaho? Miles and miles from any ranch or house?

For Allen - Nice shot of a desert Ram. I had no idea!

RE Big Horn Sheep - the younger Ram on the road was also spotted in Idaho, on the Salmon River. The larger Ram was spotted near Glacier NP, although not technically on the road.

This fella was massive! I never realized the shear strength these guys have! Look at his size compared to a fullsize truck.
