I hate snakes. But this is a really good photo. What are you shooting with?

Canon Rebel XT with Canon 75-300mm. Been wanting to upgrade but I want to see what Canon comes out with to compete with Nikon's D300.

XT is pretty good. Believe the XTi is better. Cost a good bit more. Yeah Nikon has some really good cameras as well. I prefer Canon over Nikon but I'm not aganist owning a D40 or any D series by Nikon.

Looking at 40D's. The main thing keeping me from Nikon is the button layout. I have an older semipro 35mm eos that I love even more than the XT because of its size and layout.

Yep. I looked at the D40s myself. But I don't feel like paying all that. Do you know anyone with a S3 orS5 IS

Nope, but I've considered getting one for myself for diving. The UW housings for SLR's are extremely expensive, but ones for the point and shoots are about 1/10th the price.

One of my favorites. It was about 10 degrees early in the morning at Yellowstone and I sat watching this coyote play with a rodent in the icy grass for a good half an hour before snapping this one:

Oh you've thought about getting a S3 or S5? Hell of a lot cheaper than SLRs. Your right.

Dolphins

This afternoon I looked into the cove in front of my house here in Baja and saw dolphins moving in. I took about 160 photos and then 45 minutes of video. They came in so close to where I was shooting that their tail slaps were getting me wet. I am semi deaf, to many big waves slamming me when I was younger, and was able to hear them breathing. The light was terrible as I was shooting at almost an overhead sun.

Well, I have been looking around here for a while, then someone told me there was a forum here to, and that I might try selling my trailer -- so, I should probably contribute in some other way also. Thanks for having this dedicated photography thread. I'm a frustrated photographer, my motto is: I still haven't found what I'm looking for. Still... and 16 years later, still looking...

Anyway, here are a couple of the few wildlife shot's I've captured:
