Will Jeep and Ram Truck Prices Take a Steep Dive Soon?

2025 F150 Build and price is now up. Built a truck like my 22. Couldn't add the $1,000 FX4 pkg because now Ford makes you choose between Max tow and FX4. Mine has both. My 22 302a XLT was just under 67K. 3 years later and with less equipment 2025 model is 84k. Almost 20K more? Insane.

That's a hell of a price jump in 3 years.

For reference, my 2022 window sticker:

Agreed! That's asinine. And they wonder why there is a sales slump.
For sure. And it's not just Ford, Ram and Jeep that are guilty. Lots of manufactures automotive or otherwise are guilty of huge price jumps over the past few years. Locally seeing discounts around 14K on 1/2 tons and 10K on 3/4 - 1 tons. Tons of discounts on boats, RV's and other toys. But stuff is still too pricey IMO.

Well your bottom paragraph is true- the top one totally ignores how money works. To say it’s pure greed ignores basic fundamentals. Ford is legitimately paying more for labor- paying more for steel, glass, tires, shipping expenses, etc- to just says it’s greed that they pass along these costs to consumers is very short sighted- makes a great taking point or inflame the masses though.
I understand costs rise. I can understand a $1,000 or so rise in prices every year. But a near 20K bump in MSRP over 3 years is nuts.

How many F150's does Ford sell in a year? It's shooting them and likewise Stellantis in the foot as inventory is languishing on lots.

There are still new 23's on the lots here... That goes for RV's, motorcycles, boats etc as well here.

They had been doing a lot of short sighted things imo.

The "Last Call" business is kind of a weird way to say "we know you really like this, we are going to quit making it with no replacement"

Ford knew they had a pretty decent product in the 3.5 Ecoboost 13-14 years ago. They put it alongside a dang good V8 and let it sell itself and take over the lineup all on its own.

Ram drew a line in the sand, throw out a "Last Call" for giggles and henceforth announced you can any engine in a ram that you want as long as you want a 6cyl. Everybody is going to sit and see how this brand new engine does or jump ship altogether, they can't get a faithful Hemi to tide them over until the hurricane proves itself.

More of the same in Jeepland. Last Call on the icky 392 Wrangler. Killed the V6 automatic (like the most common combo) to try to force people into the more expensive 4XE... or a now cheaper Bronco that has TWO uncontested engines sporting slushboxes.

They have been decontenting and screwing with options too. Dropped chrome door handles and fender flares on Laramie, Rambox is standard on laramie crew cab unless you get the longbed etc. Not easily rectified from an accessory catalog either which makes for super happy buyers.

It's almost like they are trying to fail...

Most car dealers get most of their profit from the service Dept.
The problem I see is that cars have been made to last longer and have
systems to diagnose problems easily.
Therefore having technicians that actually know how to work on them isn't that important anymore.
Now, they pretty much just replace the parts the computers tell them too.
Yet, labor rates keep going higher and higher.

I'd rather rebuild 4bbl's and pack wheel bearings than deal with modern vehicle issues. The computer doesn't tell you crap, you gotta know what to do with what little info it gives you.

My brother had a Fusion towed in a couple years ago that wouldn't run. The only thing more fun than tracking down the mess to a cracked headlight full of water that was crashing the CAN-BUS system was explaining to the customer that a headlight full of water bricked his car.

My friend, monetary policy has little to do with price gouging and the basics of economic policy, the use of land, labor, capital and entrepreneurship prove my point, it's

They had been doing a lot of short sighted things imo.

That new hurricane doesn’t have an oil dipstick- seems stupid to me to save a few bucks there. My LC doesn’t have a tranny dipstick which is ridiculous in itself.

Here’s a good article as a follow up, discussing just how big a hole Stelanntis is in! With its sales numbers so severely down, deals are sure to follow.

“.,,In new sales data released on October 1st, Stellantis reported that it sold 305,294 cars across its portfolio in the U.S. during Q3 2024 — a 19.8% drop from the same period last year and an 11.5% drop from the last quarter”…

And:
“According to a recent analysis by auto shopping website CarEdge, six out of the ten slowest-selling cars in the U.S. belong to Stellantis brands, with some having a nearly two-year supply on dealer lots across the country.”

To turn things around, it sounds like top management has some new plans forthcoming that, among other things, “
could result in major changes at the manager's helm in its various key departments, such as regional operations, to those affecting individual brands like Dodge, Jeep, or Chrysler.

One has to wonder what’s going to happen to Jeep and Ram truck models in the future 🤔… what will be left of them after drastic changes are made!
