Wire harness for lights

On my second car, I have the tail lights of my car hooked to a convertor box for the trailer tail lights, I'm on my second one in a year. Everything works fine for a month, then it fails? What is in these mysterious black boxs, are they waste of monther, and should i just hard wire myself.

Try hard wiring it.the other way is not working.

They are basically a little logic box that takes a vehicle with a separate blinker and brake light, and combines that logic into a 4 wire system where both the break light and blinker are through one wire. Basically, it modulate the brake light when the blinker is applied. Clear? You'd have to use relays to make it work hard wired I think.

Or add a separate set of indicator lights on the trailer to match the tow vehicle.
