WMS front and rear axles

I'm looking for information leading to the wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface (wms to wms) of the front and rear axles of the cab-overs. There are lot of European and Australians that have converted to a single rear wheel, but pics looks like they still use the stock dual rim.
I haven't found the measurements but have located the track width. Track width is not the wms measurement. Its nearly the same for the rear axle but not for the front axle.
Wondering how much off the front and rear axle wms is?

Is a fine example of a single rear wheel application. I can see the wheels on front are not the same as the rear. The face depth as well as offset clearly show the rear to be more negative. I know in a wheelbase truck you will want the front track to be wider than the rear to have a stability as well as turning radius. I would guess that switching to single rear wheel, you would want an any position wheel/tire combination, especially for a 4wd Fuso, so that a single spare can be used on either axle.

Hi Mike, The wheels ARE all the same. Just turned around the otherway on the back so > yes there is only a need for one spare.

We get these wheels made locally and a custom wheel offset has been used in this example that results in the the front and rear track being virtually identical. This greatly improves offroad capabilities especially in soft ground such as sand which is where this particular truck spends 99% of its time.

BTW these are 19'5" wheels instead of the standard 16" but I guess you already read the original thread where you cut the pic from.

Regards, John

Hey Dave, How you doin? Good idea posting up the link. I purposely didn’t want to answer this in case there was a difference in specifications to our Australian models. Kerry and I seem to realize this on a regular basis.

It’s pretty easy to work out the offset for an FG SRW conversion once you know the difference between front and rear WMS.
