wool blankets: care and feeding?

I just picked some army surplus wool blankets. My problem is that they smell like moth balls (insert joke here). I washed them in hot water and hung to dry, with no luck. Any suggestions?

I had mine dry cleaned....

I had one stored in the back of my Chevy Tahoe with some tools and such. Smelled like hydraulic oil. A little machine wash with Woolite and a spritz with Febreeze took care of that.
