Would you buy a 2025 Tundra?

If their theory regarding the cause turns out to be untrue, then a redesign and more recalls will be needed; $$$. Or... they'll just run with what they got?

That's an actuarial problem... does the cost of recalls and brand degradation exceed cost to change engine? If so, they'll do it. If not, they'll continue on.

Exactly... People who have no idea how things get made were crying that Toyota had 15 years to make the new Tundra "perfect"... but it's a low volume vehicle that has to survive on a low R&D budget... or not survive. Time isn't a factor. i doubt Toyota cares very much if the Tundra lives or dies.

2.5 gen tundras are more expensive than 3rd gens around here
Maybe it's not too late to fire up the 2.5 line and call it the "Tundra Classic"... :p

Got my first look at nephew's 2025 SR5 4X4 Crew. Door sticker payload was only 845#. Edit- I've been pondering this and it seems so wrong I'm doubting my eyesight. I've asked the nephew to double check and I'll update when I hear back. Edit#2 Actual sticker payload is 1270#. I paid big money for cataract surgery, no warranty.

It's used in the Sequoia and LX600 too, but I don't know if these are sold elsewhere.

Toyota still makes a 5.0L 472hp V8 for the Lexus IS500. It's a shame they didn't just update (or leave alone?) the 5.7l V8 for the Tundra instead of going turbo.
Yes that was their downfall. I spoke to 3 people that had their engines replaced at 20kmiles or less. They had a million mile v8 and they put that crap in. I have a 03 4.7 with 305k and runs great

I want a new 1/2 ton. The Tundra engine fiasco was said to be resolved after the 2023 models. Now I've seen mention of a 12/24 demarcation. Obviously there is a generous power train warranty but a failed engine would be a PIA. Dealers here are offering an easy $6k off MSRP before negotiation. Thoughts?
See if you can find a leftover Titan or Titan XD or a lightly used one. 5 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty, simple V8, great power, better seats, rear locker.
