All the way from Malaysia!

This gives me a good excuse to rebadge the truck :)

The quality seems decent, especially considering it cost less than half of any of the name brand options. I'm not saying it's as well made as the ARB option, but it looks awful similar to the Safari snorkel I bought for my Discovery. Either way, I'm pleased. :) Hopefully I'll be able to get it installed this weekend.

Should look awesome on the truck, I don't think ill ever end up with one on mine though, if the waters that high I think ill drive around.

You should be able to get the desired amount from your torsion bars, I just replaced mine since they were old and shot, so I can't tell you how I got. Most get 2 inches though. I got new sway away t bars ($200 Canadian, so cheaper in the US) and I noticed a big difference in front end stability. Especially under hard braking. They are 30 percent stiffer and should be able to lift 3+ inches fairly easily, but like you said any more than about 2 inches and you will need new A arms to correct for the driveline angles.

Looking good! My moding is done for the season, after a few sets of tires, haha. Thanks for the heads up on the low pro light bar. I wanted to put Hella 4000 up there and I think that would be too much for the two bolts holding it down.

The rear end isn't quite 100% just yet. I need to add new, longer shocks pretty badly, and when I do I'm definitely going to need to modify brake line and ABS cable brackets so I don't stretch/break them on full articulation.

I know you are thinking about the Bilstein for shocks and I love mine, they better than the stock and the Ranchos. There is the OME option with the Navara shocks not listed on the N. American ARB website, part numbers "OME Shocks Front N58 Rear N59" and you were happy with OME on you Land Rover.

I hear you on the AC shipping, take your high shipping and multiply it by 3 for Alaska. The only things I've ordered so far from them were the Energy bushings for my rear springs and the HD TR adjusters. Both times the shipping was more than the product. I want there extended brake lines also but I keep putting it off hoping someone other than AC will carry them.

Yeah, the low pro bar isn't mounted quite as solid as I'd like. It works, and my lights are pretty big and heavy. It does seem to hold up pretty well, even after long runs down the highway and bouncing over rough trails. But for my money it's too much a hassle to make it work. I could've had a friend build one better for less money.

Ahhhh, now you've made that decision more complicated! Haha. I've had Rancho shocks on previous rigs, and they don't hold up as well as Bilstein or OME. I really love OME's stuff. After some searching, I found I can buy those from either AC or Rugged Rocks. I'd probably buy from RR. Thing is though, I'm not sure how much longer the OME shocks are than the stock shocks. I need ones that are 2"-3" longer. I know I can get Bilstein 5100's that are 3" longer from AC. And the Bilsteins set would be $156 vs $187 for the OME. I'll have to ask around about the OME shocks. Decisions decisions...

Yikes, that's pretty harsh. When I ordered my springs, steering kit, and HD TR adjusters, the shipping was unbelievable. I know springs are heavy, but it cost $140 for UPS GROUND! Absurd. I don't blame you for holding out. Prices like this are pretty nuts.

On an unrelated note, I discovered a couple of things today. #1, the D22 is still being made in the rest of the world (at least you can get a brand new one in Australia!): http://www.nissan.com.au/Cars-Vehicles/Navara-D22/Overview

I thought that was pretty cool. You can even select factory options like a bull bar (looks almost identical to a TJM bumper), that gorgeous Nissan snorkel, and a WARN 9k winch. Just about everything there makes me jealous. The new ones have a really nice updated interior too. And #2, I found some pictures that are making me really happy about my choice of bumper and snorkel :D

yup, that is a nice looking frontier. Ive seen a few shows recently on history (Gold Rush) where they were in South America, they were driving a D22, looked pretty new to me (and awesome)

not just get your tires on and get some pictures :ylsmoke:

The guys at Sierra Expeditions or other bigger ARB dealers could get those shocks for you if you don't want to do the AC thing. SE are the only ones that have the open and closed sizes listed. But I don't know how that is to the lifted Billys lengths? I got my lifted Billys from Johns 4x4 center in CO Springs with cheap shipping to AK, they are good to work with and cheap. Think I got them for 155+10 shipping a pair.
OME specs Thanks Nic at SE!
N59
•Open length is 559mm
•Closed length is 339mm
N58
•Open length is 325mm
•Closed length is 215mm

Product Features
•Tough urethane bushes for extended life
•Unique triple lip check valve seal offers excellent gas & oil retention
•The eccentric sliding intake valve increases valving response time and reduces operating noise
•The balanced, 1.4", Teflon banded rebound piston delivers outstanding valve control resulting in better ride and handling. The equalized pressure system is delivered through multi-stage valving, which eliminates oil starvation at high speed and greatly reduces heat and pressure build up. This subsequently produces a more durable shock absorber with improved life expectancy.
•Super strong 0.71" hard chromed piston rod.
•Low pressure Nitrogen gas for optimum performance.
•Tough twin tube design with super strong 0.06" thick reserve tube protects vital internal components.
•A multi-stage compression valve incorporates a wider range of valve performance resulting in improved vehicle control and ride suppleness.
•Supplementary top & bottom welds give added strength and safety.

Hmmm, I'll have to do some measurements on the stock shocks to compare.

Nice rig!!! I like the Fronty's!! We have a couple of Fronty's that with our group in Colorado..

Thanks! I love it to death. It serves me very faithfully and takes me wherever I want to go. Lucky you, living out there in the middle of that prime wheeling country. I'm definitely going to get down there sometime within the next couple years.

Just a few teaser shots to show a bit of what I accomplished this weekend.

If you couldn't tell, I finally got my torsion bars reindexed. Ended up netting 2" up front.

Measurements
(measuring from the center of the wheel to the wheel arch.)
Before: 19" front, 20" rear
After: 21" front, 22.5" rear

And, obviously, I got the snorkel mounted.

We haven't 100% worked out the plumbing, but I think I know what I can do to make it all jive.

And another hint at what I got completed:

Also did some more measurements. Tires I'm planning to run are 235/85R16s. The specific ones I'm going to get are 31.90" tall, if I recall correctly. The current ones are 265/70R16, which should be 30.5". Nope. They're 29"! My truck is going to look a lot more trail ready in a hurry!

Near Jackson? That's quite the scenic area too. I don't get out there often enough anymore. We're lucky over here in Montana, we don't get so many tourists, and we keep our good trails close to the chest, so many of them are rarely traveled.

Thanks! I'm enjoying all the things I get to do with it. It's been a learning experience. For the front, I'm going to reindex as high as I can safely go. I'm hoping that I'll get at least 1 3/4". That'd probably be enough for me. If I could get closer to 2" I'd be ecstatic, but we'll see. In order to get that I might have to get different UCAs. While I reindex, I'm going to do a steering stabilizer kit, idler arm brace, and HD tie rod adjusters. That should make the front end as tough as I'll need it to be.

The rear end isn't quite 100% just yet. I need to add new, longer shocks pretty badly, and when I do I'm definitely going to need to modify brake line and ABS cable brackets so I don't stretch/break them on full articulation.

Yup, right at the height of tourist season too, it was packed! But definitely beautiful. You're lucky to live so close :) And that sounds like a good idea for the front end-the only good thing about torsion bars is free lift! (My ram has them...)

A box with a snorkel inside arrived at my door today. :D

Sick! Looks great!

Checking out some different ideas for seat covers. I want something with lots of storage. I really like the idea of the Smittybilt GEAR covers, but they are damn expensive. And anything similar seems to be even more expensive.
