They do look aggressive from the website. Nice voids which will help clear mud if it gets a little sticky. I really like the tread pattern.

I'm pretty certain those are the ones I'll go with. I think I'd prefer to run something that is a better all-around tire, seeing as how it's an overland rig, not a trail truck.

Their website shows them with slightly different shoulders for some reason. The ones I was looking at are just like the ones in the pictures I posed. Kind of like the shoulders on an original MTR.

The Terra Trac DTs look good almost wish they had options like that up here. The Seely Swan Valley looks skookum.

I've made the decision to go with the DTs. Plenty aggressive and a good all arounder.

And thanks, that place is a blast. The entire area is laced with forest roads. I'm pretty lucky, it's a stone's throw from some of the best scenery in the western US and my folks have a house up there.

Super cool pics !! I am always jealous of you guys scenery out west.....

Love the truck BTW.

Thanks! Yeah we're pretty lucky out here. I've got terrain just as rugged 45 minutes from my driveway. And some amazing rougher trails just an hour and a half away. Very lucky.

Most definitely! I'm kind of crazy when it comes to pictures of my mods. I always take tons. And yes, 235/85's. That comes out to $772 installed for quite a nice tire. Not too bad considering BFG AT's would run me $860.

Good deal on the tires. Look forward to the pictures. Welcome to the 235 85 club, at least 4 of us in the Nissan section running them, I think you will really enjoy the size

Hey man! Just started following your build. I wanted to get a Fronty, but they're nearly nonexistent around here. Guess I'll have to live vicariously through yours! Although my 2002 Xterra is pretty similar...can't put my finger on why, though ;)

You've got a great truck and awesome plans. Keep it up!

Thanks! It's a long way from where I'd like it to be, but it's definitely getting there. It's been the most fun and reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I'm so glad I made the switch from my Discovery. It always exceeds my expectations.

Been looking at snorkel options recently. There are a few from AC, roughly around $410. Then I found this on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-Navara-FRONTIER-D22-4x4-Snorkel-Kit-4WD-2001-Onwards-3-0Litre-I4-2-5Litre-/370890836376?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ANissan&hash=item565ad10998&vxp=mtr

$175 and free shipping is a good deal. As long as the product is good. They say it's made of LLDPE, which is a pretty tough material. On the downside, it would cover up the "V6" emblem on the driver's side, which I wouldn't care too much about. And it says "NAVARA" on it. Still not a big deal. I know the inside tubing wouldn't be an exact fit, but I'm not too concerned about that either, because if I recall correctly, neither would the AC options. Thoughts?

Looks alright to me, you may want to send the seller an email or something to find out what comes in the kit, and compare that to say an ARB snorkel's included parts. Otherwise it looks like it should bolt up, and any time you can avoid dealing with AC and save money, is a good one.

Plus if it says navara, it may signal you to switch all badges to navara for some JDM action. :sombrero:

Its very popular with the Xterra crowd to buy the Navara fiberglass snorkel sold on ebay as it is so much cheaper then the other TJM ARB options. I can't say I've read of any issues. There is obviously a page put out by TJM or ARB that try's to bring light to how bad the imposters are but in the end they perform the same task for 1/3 the cost. They "claim" the LLDPE they use isn't UV proof and over time can crack. But, when you can buy 3 for the price of one ARB or TJM it just makes sense to buy the cheaper ones. If that bothers you a quick coat of paint and its UV proof.
