I'm looking at buying a 4 door 1st gen or 2nd gen Tacoma. My price around is around 15,0000, i am located in Wyoming and it would be great to have the vehicle in driving distance. I would like to have the vehicle built or Expo ready but if not that's okay. Let me know what you have!

Stock second gens blue book for around $15k+ with 120,000 miles. Its going to be very difficult to find a 'built' or 'expo ready' one for that price tag. I know there's a couple first gens for sale around Bend, OR and Seattle that are well built very close to your budget. Check Bozeman CL, they always have interesting stuff.

I’m building a clean ‘02 Double Cab TRD that I bought stock in late Feb. It’s been in NC all it’s life so no rust issues. Has 192k. I have a garage full of goodies to go on it over the next few weeks and then I plan to re-sell it in the 18-20k range. Should be ready to go in 30 days or so. If you are interested check out my build on IG @Steelman_Built (y)

Hey! I have a GX470 (120 land cruiser) setup for sale if you weren't set on a Tacoma... Brand new bumpers / tires / sliders etc. Lmk if you are interested!

This is a good idea. Here's a well-sorted Tacoma in Bozeman my buddy was going to look at before he ended up buying a 4runner:
https://bozeman.craigslist.org/cto/d/bozeman-2012-toyota-tacoma-well-built/6872355138.html

The listing says it's been up 8 days, but the owner must've relisted because my buddy showed me that listing 2 months ago. Maybe you could get a deal since he's been trying to sell for a while? Also, keep an eye on the various Colorado craigslists. Lots of rigs and some pretty sweet deals too.

Good luck in your search!

$20k is already a deal for that Tacoma... If you want a good overland rig that's cheap but reliable. Just get a Montero

Check out the frontier, better truck for less money. And the full ARB catalog is available for the vehicle.

No, it isn't. If it was a better truck, the residual would show it. The Frontier is fine, but it's certainly not the better vehicle unless you're strictly talking which one is cheaper to buy on the front end.

No, Toyota has cornered the market and people overpay for the name. The frontier is measurably better. Boxed frame. Rear disc brakes. Objectively better, the driving position is considerably more comfortable. The seats are better. Driving characteristics are better, except for the goofy large turning radius.
Other vehicles that are better than the taco and get no respect. F150, Silverado, ram. All carry more, tow more, cost less (depending on options) and many get better mpg.The tundra is also a world better of a vehicle, but still enjoys the Toyota premium price.
