XJ Rifle Rack?

Anybody have an idea or pics of a way to mount a rifle rack in the back of an XJ. How do you carry a rifle in your rig?

I like the idea of adapting a hard case from an ATV.

I would really like to mount the old fashioned gun rack like in the back window of your pickup type on the side window opposite the spare in my XJ. The problem is the recessed window well and the cheap plastic to screw it to. I guess you could use the space behind the rack for some sort of storage system. I see drawbacks for my use in the two examples presented. I keep my back seat down for the dogs most of the time & the overhead rack, not sure how you would screw that thing to the XJ roof but it looks like a pain to get to. I think I'm gonna look closer at some sort of side window system. I was really hoping someone would hop on here and show me one they did.

lots of different racks on e-bay that can be modified to fit where ever you can think of..

I take a super simple approach. I slip it into the soft case into the back seat and set my pack on top of it to keep it from moving forward if I hit the breaks hard.

my shotgun rides widthwise in the footwells of the rear seat. (I have three small girls who don't put their feet there yet.)

I'll likely end up replacing my full pistol grip stock with a folding factory stock or one of the recoil reducing ones from knoxx. at that point, I think it'll get quite a bit easier to store.
