Vitals:
2010 DCSB TRD Off-Road. V6 ,auto, softopper, basically stock....as far as I know.
Right now it has 265/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler-somethings on there. Height is ok, a bit wide for my taste given the truck. This truck will most likely never be a serious off road machine, seeing most of it's time on-road or serving fairly light trail duty. No rock crawling intended here. Got other stuff for that.
It sits nose down in the front. Hate that. Tire clearance seems ok given it's current use, but don't like the rake. The rear seems plenty high for the tire size.
Wants:
Would like to get rid of the rake. Don't really want any lift beyond that, but...I also would like to stuff some 255/85R16 tires on there. Because I already have them, and they're practically brand new, as in maybe 3k on them at best. The Wranglers I'm guessing don't have a whole lot more than that, but I'd rather the narrower tire.
I'm a fish out of water with this type IFS having spent almost the entirety of my wheeling years riding solid axles all around. Leaf spring lifts are simple and fairly narrow in type. The Tacoma seems to have a warehouse full of different versions of lift. No rock crawling, no high speed blasting across desert washboard anticipated. I cant stand ARB type bumpers because to me it looks like somebody welded on the lions share of an off shore oil rig to the front of their truck, and I don't like the weight or profile, so no serious weight considerations on the front end. Out back the suspension is pretty soft. My ******** isn't "that" fat, but just jumping in the bed sets the springs down a bit. Rides ok though. I will deal with any weight carrying considerations via air bags, so I don't need any heavy duty springs back there so I can haul 2-tons of mulch from Home Depot.
Given it's stated use, what would be the general informed opinion on lift?
