New ECM ordered,

Pulled the wire harness for the KC front lights out, it needs rebuilt. They are wired to come on when I use my bright, then the middle 2, and side two are switched in pairs. Intermittent now, and goes on and off when I wiggle the harness. So will just replace the entire thing. With them Being LED, they don’t need the big 30 amp relays anymore anyway.

And The air system, has saddle tanks on either side. One of the lines dry rotted, So I spliced it and cut out the bad section. So I could use the bags to get back to Oregon. Then a new section blew. So no bags for use on the way back. It was fine, just looked a little goofy and not as firm.

The folding camper sides need re done.

So add that to the list. She needed a jump, but after sitting for almost a year. Its doing well. Did not hesitate to start again after that.

I see you re geared to 4.88 but I didn’t see what the factory ratio was. Did you have 3.73 or 4.10?

mekcanix,

Thanks! 288k miles, none have been easy...for the most part its been a great truck.

You can tell, i had not fixed the compressor airlines yet. So the bags are empty. A friend needed some help moving equipment Sunday. So I hooked it up, did not do the things at all sunday. Just ran like it should. And i was working it hard.

Sometimes I think I should just trade it in, then I look at the Sticker prices on new trucks...

Ill post the window sticker for my assigned work truck.

* The p1631 is new* Google tells me it has something to do with the key re learn, and not starting. Except it started multiple times after the key relearn and I cleared the code to drive it home. The next day off and on all day, towing.

I know the feelin, was replacing lower ball joints in my ram and found a upper loose. No biggie right? Well I replaced my upper control arms with Rough country about 2 years ago and its a special order from rough country ball joint, not readily available in Canada. Its a much smaller issue then your dealing with but man its frustrating when you think you got it figured and boom now your in trouble. Fortunately for me its has a very minor amount of play so I have some time to figure out whats my next plan of attack

She is not my daily driver anymore, the ZR2 takes care of that. And I have an assigned work truck so neither of my personals are getting used much. Weekend errands pretty much. Its amazing how little you drive when you use a fleet truck to commute with. No complaint on that.

The window sticker for my WT, the D-max is about a 10k options, but still double my 2004.

Chevy has discontinued the engine wire harness, I will have to pull a scrap one. Which is probably not much better than where I was. Or Possibly build one by hand..
But will keep looking.

Ill start by checking each line/and pin I supose

Plugged the good ole Innova 5610 in yesterday. p1631, is no longer showing. In fact, it’s not showing any of any kind.

Hauling stuff around the place with it last weekend, and the radio decided it was not going to shut off. Its not the RDS door sensor, as the dome and perimeter lights come on and off as expected. Just a short in the back of the head unit. I put an aftermarket head unit in, ln like 2009 or so. And probably did a bad job, the connections just need some love.
