    Camper Builder in Abilene TX

I think that it would be strong enough structurally but I would be really worried about all of those 110v appliances. If someone wants an off road trailer then they are probably going to want to take it some place that doesn't have a power hook up, so they would need to use 12v.

Xtreme 4x4 Expedition Jeep Grand Cherokee

What do you have against the Grand Cherokee? They make great overland vehicles, the older models have solid axles front and rear, and the newer ones can come from the factory with front and rear ELSDs that work extremely well.

2007 WK CRD "Not what I expected" Gas Mileage

Wow that really sucks, hopefully you can figure it out. My dad has a 6.7 F-250 diesel that'll get 18.5mpg all day long

    Camper Builder in Abilene TX

Nice! I like the design too, I'm a sucker for a tear drop and at a great price point too. You should add more pictures or maybe a walkthrough video of it on your website, its pretty hard to get a feel of the layout from the pictures you provided. From a fellow texan I wish you the best with...

    For all Jeep guys

A commander most definitely is a real jeep and is just as capable as a stock wrangler. Especially since the commanders with the Hemi have Quadra Drive II which has front and rear limited slip differentials. They are based on the same platform as the WK so just about anything made for the grand...

    2011 Grand Cherokee lift

Right now the RR lift is the only one available, but as time goes on and it starts to loose its newness more and more companies will support the WKII platform. ARB will probably come out with some products soon but as of now aftermarket accessories are pretty scarce.

    trailer with tent living/ sleeping?

If you plan on living in it for a while I wouldn't go with anything that has a tent because it won't be insulated. I think a large truck camper would be your best bet for long term living. If you have the cash you might also think about an earth roamer http://www.earthroamer.com/ but that...

    Hand built hard-side, pop-up camper

Wow I just read through your entire build journal on your website and I am impressed! That thing turned out great! Do you have any pictures of how you vented your water heater? I'm planning on using a similar one on my trailer.

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK (2005-2010) as ExPo vehicle

I also have a WK and love it! I installed an OME lift and added some 32" BFG M/Ts and it hasn't failed me yet. Mine is only the V6 however but even with my mods I still get 18-20mpg highway. The only real downfall of it is that it only has Quadra track 1 and lacks low range but so far the ESP...

    Critique my tear drop design

Thanks :) but unfortunately I'm still looking at a few years before I begin due to lack of funds and space to build. I just enjoy the process of designing and refining so that I know I'll have the best design when I do go to build. Wow thanks for the info, for the intake vents on either side...

    Timbren Axel question

a few people have mentioned wheel travel as a downside but why is it important on a single axle trailer? it seems that if you have a 360° coupler its just going to follow the dips in the trail similar to a bicycle.

    Critique my tear drop design

Thats what I had planned when I did this rendering seeing that it will be used mostly during the day and not so much at night but I was looking through another persons build thread (http://littleswissteardrop.com/air.html) and they put the air con underneath one of the bottom cabinets and vented...

    Critique my tear drop design

I went back and did a slight redesign moving the axle back some and overall adding more detail. Also living in texas I'd only be able to camp one month out of the year otherwise so I added an A/C unit. and of course one with the tow vehicle

    Offroad Teardrop - SawTooth XL

its funny you say that, I found this thread a few months ago and loved the shape, but being 6'1" also I designed my version with a 7' interior and a few more luxuries in the galley. I posted a thread about it a few months ago if you want to take a look at my rendering. StomperXJ is a great...

My honest 2011 Toyota 4runner review

Have you looked any at the Jeep Grand Cherokee? One equipped with the 5.7 Hemi can tow 7200lbs and a 2010 with the off road package has LSDs front and rear. The 2011 body style with the off road package has a rear LSD and a front brake-loc differential. The 2011 with the air suspension can...

1500 mile Road trip with my M416

could you post the dimensions of your water heater? I've looked online but they posted dimensions seem huge. I'm currently designing a trailer with a water heater and I need to make sure I have plenty of space for it. thanks

    Critique my tear drop design

Thanks, how did you go about carving out the sheet walls? It seems like that would be the easiest way to go about it but carving it out with a router seems like it would take a very long time. When I did my model I wasn't really thinking of radii, I was mainly trying to get the shape down and...
