New Smart MVUM Maps for Colorado National Forests!

Thank you for what you have done. It is a trying experience looking for the correct MVUMs for the San Juan Mountains area (Silverton to Ouray, Telluride to Lake City). The area encompasses parts of 4 National Forests as well as BLM land and county roads. Each National Forest splits their...

    GVWR exceeded by camper

You need to take it to the scales fully loaded. Once weighed divide your drive axle weight in half and check it against the ratings for your tires. You do not want to overload your rear tires.

    Stablelift

In all the off highway travel I did with the old jack system I never hit a jack on anything. I took my old jacks off for one trip. It was too much time and effort for the reward. As for RV.net I believe the stablelift thread was the beginning of the end for me. The mod "swears" by...

    Cabover Thoughts - Lance 7.6 / 2005 Tacoma

Urie's camper weighs 900 lbs loaded. Yours weighs at least 1500 lbs empty. Stop guessing at the weight. Weigh the truck with the camper on fully loaded for trip. (people, gear, fluids, everything) How many thousands of pounds will you be over the manufactures recommendations? The Tacoma is...

    Whitney 2013

You can't beat San Gorgonio from Vivian Creek as a prep for Mt. Whitney. 8 miles and over 5000' elevation gain. And the trailhead is not far from your weekend retreat in Forest Falls :)

    Lifted or Locked?

On a stock ZJ with the sway bars attached there is very little unloading of the suspension and a front locker will serve you well. If you are on long arms and disconnected it is another story altogether.

ARB air locker, front vs. rear?

Lock both ends and be done with it. If you drive around with an empty bed more often than not I would suggest locking the front if you only lock one end.

    Lifted or Locked?

What rear end do you have? If you have the 44HD then you are very limited on your locker options. I would not drive in snow or ice with a locked rear end.
