Have you changed the fluid in your diff? It can be a few things. The solenoid is going out or clogged. (vacuum switch /actuator in the engine bay that controls awd). You have debris or gunk in the shifter gear /lever by the boot. Or the lever is worn out/needs adjusting. Possibly a dirty...

I got a 04 Ltd for $2800. With 200k on the clock. $4k+ with 220k seems a bit steep, unless it's in immaculate condition. If they throw in the timing belt, spark plugs, water pump change, then it may be worth it. Valve cover replaceable isn't that hard. Takes some time if you are meticulous...

Ok, I fixed the picture issues. Got maintenance done mostly. Had issues getting to the timing belt.... since I couldn't remove the accessory plate/back plate. Maybe someone has a idea how to do this without pulling the whole engine out... or the steering shaft... I've found a few...

So... After a lot of run around I found the issue. A blown 120A fuse that wouldn't power the fuel pump or something. After taking apart the plenum and valve covers twice, rewiring and following all the connections.... it was a simple fuse. Well, my skill level at disassembling a Monty has...

Thanks Salonika... I haven't seen any shrader valves but I will look. I think I found the culprit. When I first started it, there was a plum of smoke that came from the engine bay but couldn't find anywhere it came from directly. I suspect it was the oil that leaked through the spark plug...
