Rolling without the front sway bar takes a little getting used to. I've had mine off for a few months now, and I love it.

Disclaimer: I only recommend ditching the front sway bar if you have upgraded coilovers up front to stiffen the ride a bit.

well I reinstalled the sway bar. It was okay on the highway, but in sharp turns with grade changes (e.g. pulling out of my driveway) I was having some issues. With the sway bar reinstalled all issues are resolved.

Wonder if anyone has thought about a quick disconect for our sway bars, like the jeeps have.

hmmmm...even with the PRG stuff you had issues? What kind of issues? Too much body roll?

no it wasn't body roll, the issue was contact. The added freedom must have been allowing increased forward/aft movement as well as articulation. I was hearing a bumping sound which I assumed was tire rub, but turned out to be axle rub on the "impact structs" that came with my Fabtech lift. Once I reinstalled the sway bar the rubbing went away.

Moved the Jack

So, that jack was a little too heavy for the front rail. Had it on the floor for awhile and that of course gets in the way of the bed extender. Then I saw a thread on CF.org that sparked an idea. The OP mounted his jack on the bed divider, which made me think why not on the bed extender.

I like that idea. I'll have to check it out also. Currently I have mine setup to mount on the front rail. It would move around, but I have a couple small 'RubberMaid' storage boxes that fit exactly under the Hi-Lift to keep it from moving. It was just dumb luck that everything fit. The storage boxes hold things like jumper cables, air compressor, gloves, tow strap, chain, shackles, ... All that is held in place by clamping the bed extender against the storage boxes.

Looking good Bigdog! I am jealous of that downtravel. I bet you will like that shrockworks bumper... It looks like you have all of the toys to mount on it already. It will definitely solve any issues with approach angle.

That's an awesome idea mounting the Hi-Lift to the bed extender. Now I know where I am going to mount mine. Thanks.

cool, yea it seems to be holding up well there. The only thing I added was a strap so it's easier to flip the bed extender with the extra weight on it. The added benefit is that the jack is right there at the back of the truck, so I don't have to climb into the bed to get it out.

So, last week I found a guy that could resolve this problem for me. He used a gauge to measure the wheel base on both sides of the truck and found that the drivers side was 1/4" shorter then the passenger side. I had hit the front diff pretty hard one day up at URE and always assumed that was the culprit, but could never find anyone that could fix it. This guy did it in a couple hours and after yet another alignement I am finally back in business!:smiley_drive:
