Just installed my 20L in the back of the Disco. Will post some images soon. One really nice feature is the spout can be removed, and other fittings installed, like a hose, etc.

Too bad the 40L water container's cutout is too small for my Montero. THe transmission/driveshaft tunnel is 14"x~1.5" in size. :(

I had to settle for the 20l model instead and will have to carry it in place of one of my Jerry cans. :smiley_drive:

One of the nice additions to the footwell tank in this recent shipment is that now there are drain positions on both sides of the tank. It only comes with one hose, but now at least there is the option for dual access.

Sorry to hear about the FJC. That would have been a good solution there.

Scott showed me the mounting location in his D1 the other night. Very elegant solution. Can't wait to see the photos.

Cheers,

Can a second hose for the footwell tank be ordered? A few more questions.......

Is there a way to solidly mount the footwell tank, like tabs or attachment points built into it? Also, are there baffles inside to keep the water sloshing and sound to a minimum?

Anyone tried one in a 1st gen DC Tacoma? I'll go grab some measurements and virtual test it in the meantime. Paul has one here in town as an added bonus

Has anyone used or have experience with the 40L Rack Mount Water Tank ?

I am thinking about flat mounting it to my truck bed floor just in front of or over the rear axle. I thought it might be a good spot for easy hose access at the tailgate.

My estimates show the tank plus mounting and full of water should be close to 100 lbs.

Is there any baffle type structure inside the tanks ?

Anyone see any problems with the hose routing with this application ?

Anyone feel 40L is to large ?

Cheers,

Just received ours today from Sierra Expeditions. It came with two hoses and two disconnects. Two brackets to hold the hoses too. Appears to be a nice kit.

Quick fitment test revealed that it won't sit flat on the floorboard.. unless we move our front seats up 2" or so. No biggie, it can sit at a slight angle.

I'll post up pics after i install ours.

I hope my tank comes with two hoses.

Rarely am I this happy to be wrong. I was told that they would only have one hose, but I went and checked the one I have in SLC and it too had two hoses. The added outlet and hose setup would explain the price adjustment on this container order.

As far as I know, there is no baffling in the footwell tank, the 20L Jerry, or the 40L roof rack tank. I have had some experience with mounting and using the 40L roof rack tank. Very nice. It uses the same base as the double Jerry can holder, but with a different strap configuration. The hose comes out the bottom side, and is pretty much the same as the hose shown above on the footwell tank. Any flat surface will do fine for mounting.

Cheers,
