Looks good Mark. I like how the fridge still fits with that water tank..... i might have to give a Christo a call. The HAM turned out really clean too. I like the antenna mount.

Thanks, I love the beast :cow:

After ripping off another fender flare in big bear last fall (damn mud flap got caught up) I knew it was time to get rid of all the flares. I also wanted to get rid of the hideous chrome-like panels on the rocker panels. The double sided tape under the chrome stuff was a BEAR to take off so I turned to Line-x to cover it all up - including the holes that held the flares on.

The line-x was sprayed prior to installing the 4x4 labs dual swing out rear bumper. I had to remove my sliders so the line-x guys could get full coverage on my rocker panels, so I'm researching replacement sliders and am leaning heavily towards hanna's for the beefy cat protection. More pictures to come...

Here are just a few things I have that I need to install...
mobi-arc dual battery isolator
lifeline 100ah batteries
bajaoverland.com 37 gal. aux tank (oem dual filler neck, oem switch, oem overhead console w/gauge)
lighforce 170's (contemplating converting them to HID's)
totalvisionproducts.com quad camera spotting system
slee's t-case skid plate

stay tuned :)

There is definitely something about an 80 that gets into your blood.

No kidding, now I understand why many cruiserheads own more than one. And by more than one I don't mean 'I have a 40 series and an 80 series.' I mean, 'I have three 80's, a 60 and a troopy.'

Speaking of which, I want more cruisers :chowtime:

Ha!
Isn't that funny. I have been searching for another 80, but one with less than 100K, and a 40, and a 55.
Just don't tell...

It was about 38 degrees and pitch black outside and I had this great idea of changing my air filter prior to heading to Yosemite. So I loosened the hose clamp at the throttle body, opened the three clips above the air cleaner and removed the wing nut. I disconnected the MAF harness and lifted the top of the air box enough to remove and replace the air filter with an oem one. While lifting the top of the intake assy. I tore a hole in the intake hose :( Apparently loosening the hose clamp wasn't enough for the 13 year old hose, I should have removed the intake hose from the throttle body...or removed the hose from the MAF.

The temporary cure...duct tape

Long term fix...OEM

Although the duct tape looked great it didn't create a perfect seal. There was enough leak to cause the tranny to downshift funny from 2nd to 1st. I'm guessing it has to do with the vacuum lines. Once I replaced the hose the shifting went back to normal.

Lesson Learned...wait 'til morning :sunny: :p

Your 80 is coming along VERY NICELY!

BTW, what is that pressure guage looking thingy where the heater hoses are along the firewall?

Thanks Robb, I'm really happy the way it's coming together.

It's a pressure gauge connected to slee's manifold for the arb's, the large arb compressor is also mounted using slee's mount. Once I get the aux battery in and all the wiring cleaned up I'll post pictures up. :Mechanic:
