Moab Gathering Nov. 2-4 2007

What is the ETA of those going? Should we figure out a specific meeting place? I am thinking of just camping down Kane Creek, that way it is close to everything. The 'spot' I suggested before is about 45 minutes out of town...while Kane Creek camp spots are 15-20.

I expect to be in Moab by 7:30 Friday evening, unless things change and I can get that day off.

I've got Friday off, so I'll roll in Thursday night some time. I'll be happy to camp wherever the group wants.

We will be staying at the Super 8 from Nov 1---4 and heading home on Sunday PM. Will there be a phone contact list sent out or a firm meeting place? I would VERY MUCH like to do Hells Revenge trail, anyone familier with that one?

I'd be hip to running Hells Revenge. I ran it a few times before, but never in my 80. I am going to run it next weekend to get a feel for it in the 80, so I wouldn't mind hitting it again in November. The only thing about that trail, is if it has snow on it, you don't want to be on it. Way too risky. Once we have a final as to attendees, I will send my cell # out to everyone. I will also have a CB and FRS Radio as well...

Outstanding! Both my father-in-law and I have CB radios and I look forward to meeting everyone. I don't know if he will think that Hells Revenge will be too hard core or not but I'm up for it. I just got the Crawl box put in at MArlin Crawler and haven't had a chance to plat with it yet.:wings:

It isn't overly hard. The optional obstacles are certainly difficult, but the main trail isn't tough, just steep and exposed.

OK, I'm finally home. Fair season is done for the year and I can focus on the fun that is MOAB 2007.

I'm wound a bit tighter than some....can someone please set the meeting time, place, CB channel and so forth? Or PM me for my cell# and I'll be glad to chat.

After the ExPo Trophy/Cottonwood Canyon run this week (alot of members will be out of town that are going).....I will get with you all to find a good geeting place time etc that fits......

Most likely in the morning and by the trailhead......Channel 4......

Stay turned...Gotta get back to packing for the Trophy!!!

Dunno if the truck will be ready in time but I'm gonna push it!

If no truck, we'll bring the MTBs for some pedal pushing goodness ...maybe see you guys on Hell's Revenge/Slickrock, or something, at least meet up for food, perhaps even in the backcountry.

I do have a 2m HT...but no CB.

I hope to be there for Friday. I've heard good things about MM and would like to give it a try. I ran Steel Bender last year and other than one off-camber hill it was pretty high on the yawn factor.

I just remembered to begin a most critical winter camping preparation. Growing a beard! LOL

Dump Bump is officially closed...(at least as of last weekend, there was a sign in front of it )

There is quite a range you have there...

I hope to do a little of everything too. I plan on settign up a rappel or two.

Highway to Hell? Are you referring to Hell's Revenge?

Does anyone know the details on Dump Bump? Is it on private property? There's some signage around that leads me to believe it is now off-limits. You gotta do Potato Salad Hill since you'll be right there. If you're not ready for Lion's Back, do Baby Lion's Back. The climb on the back side will quickly expose you to Moab traction!

The best way to do Golden Crack in my opinion is to go in Poison Spider to Golden Spike and then exit via Gold Bar Rim. I love that loop but it takes about 8 hours to do it.
