Yo Sunman! Good to see you here. You should be sharing pics of your travels down south. I always enjoy seeing where you've been and what you've been up to. I know others here would too.

Paul R - anytime you wanna cross over, lemme know. I get over to Bear Lake fairly often and I love Logan Canyon. Maybe our paths will cross sometime.

I was able to squeeze in a quick trip out to the desert yesterday. Hoping to go again this afternoon. The Spring winds are ripping right now. 30mph-40mph gusts are blowing through the basin as the snow starts melting off the peaks of the Wind River Mountains. No telling how much dirt and grit my camera and I swallowed yesterday in an attempt to snap a few photos.

So what can stop a mighty 60 series on BFG KO's? How about a lousy $4 hitch pin?

Picked this up the other night riding down the street. The attached cable was whipping around in the wheel well and I thought I had broken a shock or something.

Fortunately I was able to use the ring to pull the pin out but then it went flat faster than if I had pulled the valve core. Luckily I was close to the house and could deal with it at home....

Pretty surprised that a blunt pin could puncture the tire, and right through a tread block too. I should mention that is the first puncture I can recall getting on a set of BFG AT KO's. I thought they were made from kevlar or something.... Oh well, it's patched up now and back on the road. If that's the worst thing that happens to the 60 than that'll be just fine.

Funny - I had a run-in last week with an allen wrench - maybe 4-5mm - pushed right into the tire on my Tacoma. I had the same reaction - how does something this "dull" pierce my tire. OH well...

I also picked up an allen wrench once, mine was an 11mm and now resides in my box.

KC, that looks like a pin from a swaybar quick disconnect.

Thanks guys. Wyoming has so much to offer, it's a great place to live.

Now that the snow is starting to melt off, a few of the trails up into the mountains are starting to open up. I took a little sunset ride last night, just poking around in the foothills. It may be awhile before the higher elevations are fully accessible.
