So all in all I think I scored a amazing deal. Its not the best looking, it kinda bugs me that it sits lower and far away from the cab.. but I am assuming its becuse of the bed light. Whatever, its going to serve its purpose for camping!

All I need is to replace the seal on the bottom, clean out the inside.. and figure out how to add screens to the sliding windows!

I didn't notice that it sat lower than the cab until you mentioned it but now it's gonna drive me crazy! :D Do you plan to paint it to match?

Yea that rear light pushes it back away from the cab which is odd, and its also lower. Im sure I will get over it soon.

I do plan on paint matching it, but not until after my trip to the Mojave Road. Once I return, I dont have any trips planned until September, so that should be enough time to paint it.

Man, the more I look at the shell, the more I think its not meant for a frontier. The seller said it came off a work truck that was a 2002 long bed Frontier XE.

He also said a Tacoma came to buy it, but it didnt fit so he didnt buy it.

I think I will go down to the Leer dealer and have them take a look. See what truck its actually supposed ot fit. Im happy I got it really cheap..

That's a bummer. The only thing that bugs me about is that it's a different color - not a huge thing but just kind of stops the flow. If it's not made for the Frontier at least you can put it right back up on craigslist and maybe make a profit?

Truck is still looking great.

No I was wrong. Its deff made for the frontier. I remounted it today after doing some more cleaning. It fits pretty snug now.

As for the Blue paint, I am deff getting rid of it. I will remove the rails, and all windows after my Mojave Road trip. I dont want to risk not finishing in time. Get it primed and color matched. So it will deff look nicer. I will get rails on top to match the front as well.

Looks good to me. And the price was very good. I had to put a crappy 20 year old topper on my Nissan Hardbody until I find something better. People around here want insane amounts for them, so I am just going to be patient. I found a nice one similar to that one (was blue too, lol) for only $100 but it was an 6 hour drive on way. Little too far. Would have cost more than that in fuel to pick it up and bring it back.

Once you repaint it, she will look even better ;)

I figured you had a plan to do the color thing :)

Seal has been replaced, next up will be to drill some more accurate holes and get this thing mounted correctly.

SO due to the camper shell.. I put some repairs on the back burner. I am cutting it close before my Mojave Road trip but I still need to:

1. Check/Change Transfer case fluid
2. Check/Replace rear brakes + Bleed brake system
3. Coolant Flush

Im a go getter and I already processed my taxes and paid 12 bux for an early return. I SHOULD have it in about 10 days.

I was thinking about changing the Shocks and adding a leaf pack for the rear. but I had a few questions.

Because I added the camper, as well as trying to build a sleeping platform, the extra weight will stress the already sagging OEM rear suspension parts. Will New shocks and a single AAL be all I need? All I have done to the rear is 1 1/2 in Lift Shackles. And as far as the front, is it ok to buy new shocks without new UCA's since I cant afford it all right now?

I do plan on going with a correct 3 in suspension lift, but for now, the added weight to the rear is more important.

I have a topper on my 03. It has a relief for the high mount brake light. If yours doesn't, it was peobably built for an older hardbody. Also, the rear door/hatch on mine overlaps the tailgate about an inch more than shown in your picture and is the same height as the cab.

Thanks for the info Glenn. Mine does infact have the relief for the 3rd brake light. Strange how it is shorter tho. Oh well.. It was 120 dollars and will be just fine for sleeping in. It will come off when not camping and the paint matched tonneau will go back on!
