IME in the western US, it's not unusual at all to have the whole rig supported on 2 opposite corners. Going though a ditch at an angle for instance... or just rocks and bumps and ruts on any trail. You need to be able to accommodate that or you'll be pretty restricted.And honestly I will not enter into that type of ditch you chose to enter into. My rig is not designed for jeep only type trails. There is millions of trails with less than that erosion in the western USA and Canada.
If you have a berth over the cab I think it's a good idea to use a 3 point arrangement with the rear pivoting, so the front of the camper follows the cab pretty well. I have 2" of clearance and I think 1" would have been plenty.
