That's how I had mine set-up, separately. When I had a leak recently on the right side it was easier to diagnose.

There is the proof of concept.

I am seriously considering Firestone airbags in addition to new rear springs - looking for the ultimate in flexibility and ride quality.

I took the truck almost to Borrego Springs today just for fun, did some shooting on BLM land up off the 76 on the way back. Good times!

The wife got to shoot the .45 and the .40 carbine, she had a great time.

8. I will be removing the fridge and re-installing the rest of the back seat. The fridge will be moved to the bed since I am considering a topper with windoors for the bed, the expedition rack may go up for sale as I will probably go to an AT in the future.

So, the plan is lots of changes over the next 2 years, but trying not to "fix what ain't broke".

I am loving this new plan, Dave!

Really looking foward to seeing a more slimeline approach... I can visualize all of it!

Dave, as always, love the truck. Not sure if you have had anything done with the rear springs yet, but I had Jeff over at Deaver build me a custom set and they turned out great. I had him build them for an additional 500lbs on the rear of the truck. I am not there yet in weight and they still ride great. When i have loaded it down and have added the extra weight they have handled it great. And unloaded with just the weight of the CBI rear bumper with swing away and spare back there it still rides nice. Also, they flex like crazy. When we were installing them, the axle hung a good 8" lower than the lower mounting point of the shock. I used Icon rear resi shocks. And I can tell the spring has more in it than the shock with allow so I am searching for longer rear shocks. I'm sure they have the build specs to my springs on file. And thanks for being brave with the snorkel again. I am going to be going down to SLC to see Kurt and get me a SS135HFD.

Super charger?????

Dave....your future rear setup sounds great.....That is my next stop if i decited to add more weight to the rear. Right now my deaver 10 pack is doing the job just right...for me...the next stop is an 11 pack with the optional air bag setup....Firestone baby!

The sealed tranny is not nearly as hard to service as people think, just harder than older ones.

I know this post is a couple weeks old but, had a ? about it. Two stealerships seriously talked me out of my desire to have my sealed auto tranny serviced. Saying that the ones that they have serviced before 100k have had sloppy shifting when under loads (e.g. pulling a trailer) has anyone here had theirs serviced before 100k, that can put me at peace? I hate the thought of letting a tranny go that long, especially an auto.

I would be interested in some more information on this. Do they have "sloppy shifting" when serviced after 100k?

I had mine done at 50,000kms and will continue to do so every 50,000kms. peace of mind for me and I do it myself in the garage.

Just drain it, and then fill it back up with a pump until it comes out of the over flow, let it sit for 5min and drain out the over flow and then tighten everything back up.

Sorry for the high jack :)

Sorry for the jack Tacodoc. My dealer told me to do it at 50k Applejack.

Icon resi or OME? Thats comparing very different shocks isn't it? I got the OME because I didn't want to spring for the ICONs. Is that what you are thinking?

Halfway Home!

No worries! Yes, two very different shocks indeed. I am deliberating over the merits of each and the cost...

Almost half way through my 2009 deployment... the missus has approved the post-deployment budget for gears, springs, tires and topper :victory:

I had a chance to drive some exotic rigs in Oman - lots of Toyotas, Nissan Patrols, Pinzgauers, Mantras, and Land Rovers so here's a few pics of some favorites.

A nice collection of Toyota 70 Series Land Cruisers and a Hilux
