It's not that tight. I don't know where you're getting your numbers for but it's definitely not 1/8. Not even close.

Ben, those numbers were from me getting under the truck to measure things out since my brother was wondering if there is enough clearance to use the D90 calipers with 15" rims. My quick & dirty measurement was 5/8" between the 16" rim and the closest part of the caliper, thus leaving 1/8" with a 15" rim.

I'll try to snap a pic and post it up later.

mike the wheel offset between your wheels and ben/steves will make the measurement different.

Right, I was basing my number off what Mike wrote, just taking a guess. Anyway, the main point was just to say that down to 5mm is probably ok, and whether you end up with 3 or 5 or 8... comes down to the exact wheel you're talking about.

Sheki and I drove up Angeles Crest yesterday to check out the devastation. The sound of rock fall was a constant background noise wherever we stopped and the familiar smell of charred wood hung in the air. Construction crews were scattered along power lines, roads and under bridges repairing what they could. There was not a guard rail still in place, all burnt to a crisp and the metal melted and disfigured.

The first rains will bring a whole new level of disaster to that area.
