New trailer

I've been looking for a small teardrop trailer for awhile. Found one here in town about 2 miles from my house.

The left rear fender is damaged but the guy gave me two new round metal fenders, might look into getting flat top fenders though.
My battery died in my camera before getting shots inside.
The plan is to move my RTT off my M416 to the top of the teardrop for my trip to Alaska. Hopefully I'll have it up there before June for a trip to Sedona AZ.
I can't do a spring over on it bit might do a body lift to gain some height.
I'll post more pictures later as the project moves along.

It has torsion axle on it so I'm trying to figure out how to get some height out it.

Looking at pictures of torsion axles it looks like you could place a 2x2 on top to gain height or at the four mounting points there are 2x2 flat plate welded off the frame maybe a body lift at those spots?
It does need a little height gain, I dont plan to take it off road just through a forset service campground. I still have the M416 for off road trips.

:sombrero: Thats a neat looking Teardrop, but I gotta ask

--Why would you put a RTT on top of a teardrop ???

If you're going to have to modify for offroad---sleep inside, whats wrong with that and if you add that much weight to the top of a light duty Teardrop--trouble in frame/joints/latchs--etc

I did this to a friends pop-up camper and it worked perfectly. I also took some steel and braced the newly lowered axle mount at an angle to a crossmember on the trailer to resist side loads.

Reason I need to add the RTT is for a road trip to Alaska, If I don't add it either my kids or I will have to use a ground tent. I have the tent now on a M416 but we all don't fit in that either so the Teardrop with the RTT is a temp option. With out the tent I'll add a basket to the cross bars to carry gear.

Just be careful on how you distribute weight on the little trailer--tell the kids-"don't bounce"

should be a wonderful trip--ood lick

You should get some screen netting so you can cook on the back and not worry about bugs flying into your sleeping area.

Thanks good idea. I was also thinking of screen for the doors to beable to sleep w/ the doors open. I have seen a tent section that attaches over the opened backend on some teardrops.

I lifted my old pop-up camper 11" and I kept the torsion axle, I just built a subframe that the axle bolted to and welded to the frame. Here's a couple pictures for reference.
