Took Some Pics Of The Disco

Went out to a local area to scout out the possibility of using it for a local news shoot for Expedition Awareness since I only live maybe ten miles from it. Figured while I was out there I would try to get some decent pictures of the Disco.

I don't really care for a few of them myself, but what do you think?

Looks great!
I see around three at my work, but they are bone stock.

I like seeing them modified, and even better with a roof top tent.

Thanks, Wolf, for going out there.

By the way, cool projection of the logo onto the window!!!

And this is my favorite by far:

Composition was great. Light was way more friendly.

Thanks, got me out of the house for a bit, so it's all good. :sombrero:

As hot and sunny as it was out today it was hard to get any kind of lighting other than ridiculous bright. I just got lucky to get that photo when a lone cloud briefly went by. Since as you know, I don't have the best camera in the world after my other one made a new home in the riverbed. :p

Okay, so now he's literally ASKING for it?

We aren't allowed to give it to him. It's all fluffy and warm here and JeffsGTP jumps in all butt hurt if you are allowed a comment that is not the least little bit complimentary.

Actually, some of the compositions are not half bad for an amateur. But the white balance is off on most of them. What were you doing with the white balance setting? What is "Expedition Awareness"?

Well at the time I was taking them it looked correct, but I also didn't know my way around the camera very well. It's not my usual camera, and it's not a good one by any means. My usual camera I believe made itself a new home last month on the Palo Duro trip.

Street, the photos aren't working for me. Besides the noted white balance issues and over-saturated colors, you are on the wrong side of the sun. Too much is in shadow on your subject, and shooting at the corners of the day is typically more effective also. Also, by cropping in so much on the D2, you've lost a sense of context on where you are, what's special about the place, and why is it significant that your LR got you there.

Nothing wrong with being critical or disagreeing. Just be respectful when doing so. Those are our rules - simple.

Yay, another "pay for my vacation" pseudo-charity. At least these guys are honest and upfront about why they want the donations.

DONATE:

FUEL - PARTS - FOUNDATION

In other words, "pay for my trip", "pay for my rooftop tent" and finally, if there's anything left over after that, "donate to my foundation".

I would believe in their altruism more if they weren't begging for gas and parts.

There must be a better place for your cyncism than this thread....

I'm not saying I disagree with you about soliciting the membership here for gas & RTT's, just that this isn't the place...
