To echo others so far, the 3.4, even with an auto (that has been properly fortified against the milkshake), and especially with the manual, can run well over 300-400K...even in the heavy T100s. That being said the only issue you may find will relate to "age" issues as seals and boots and other...
No relation to seller...just ran across it on Cl and thought it belonged in here. RHD, newer diesel. it might be good, it might not be as I haven't got a clue about these.

I've got a set of pickup/4runner Aisin hubs on my T100. You're right about the steering feel...it is a bit lighter. I did not notice a change in my gas mileage with them on. I simply wanted to reduce the wear and tear on my front driveline. I'm interested to see if it affects the mileage on a...
You could always try to straight trade with someone on Craigslist. The fact that it's 4WD probably means you could get swapped into something (possibly better) easily...especially in GA. But it's probably gonna be a civic-type car or 2wd truck.
Here's a D50 (no affiliation) that's a few hours...
That is an awesome find! Looks like it's not more than a few years old.
Yup...pull them off an older 4runner or pickup (like your '90). Used sets can definitely be found for relatively little money. You may need a few parts for the conversion but a few companies sell conversion kits (WabFab is...
Agreed. My T100's case blew out gear oil everywhere, and it looked like it was streaming from the top. We removed the case and went through and re-did the shifter base with FIPG (still looked sealed) and input and output seals and it fixed it right up. Unless the case has previously been apart...
Yup...I meant to say the same thing in my previous post. 23K buys a lot of gas, especially since diesel is more expensive. Even if they both get 19 mpgs, the Tacoma still gets you better mpd (miles per dollar). Between the price of diesel and a diesel truck, the tacoma is way cheaper to run per...
I was curious to compare as you did, and the Dodge site doesn't have an option for a regular cab, short bed 2500. They only have a RC long bed listed, pushing the wheelbase to 140.5 inches. Just FYI.
Maybe they had a RCSB 2500 previously offered that you can pick up used? The wheelbase...
My tires are a bit oversize from stock, so the odo reading mpg ranges from 15.7 to 19.5, but in reality it's closer to 16.5 to 20 using gps distances. Low mileage comes from city driving or high-speed (70+ mph) highway (needs a sixth gear badly for modern speed limits). High mileage comes from...
My understanding is the 5-speed in the Gen1 Tundra is the R150F, same as in the T100. I also think it came only with the 3.4. No V8 manual was offered on the Tundras. It's a stout trans and was used in the Tacoma/4runners too I believe. But FYI, I have the 5-speed T100 (basically the same...
It's not just the shifter seat bushing going bad and allowing the shifter to move around is it? Just a thought in case it's a ten dollar fix.
Ps. I had an '87 Supra..that motor sounds familiar for obvious reasons! :)
Cool! No opinionated debate from me! Except that I love the truck. I like unique and strange trucks (part of the reason I have a T100)! :sombrero:
Cool find and looking forward to updates. :ylsmoke:
I know on some of the T100s with the 3.4, the O2 sensors will get funky and along with a dirty MAF can sometimes cause the mileage to drop pretty good...all without throwing a code. You may want to have a scan tool see what those 02 sensors are doing.
