NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

We'll see if that's an issue given the way the system is integrated with the stock tank; thankfully labor is cheap and I have some time to sort it out!

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Frontrunner Aux fuel tank: can a Rover really ever have too much gas? So the truck is at Icon now for some love, so I'll just leave this here as what will probably serve both as a teaser and really the only functional shot of anything other than the underside: 80L of fuel (~21 US gal) should...

Soooo....I got stuck! Any recovery advice?

Interesting comment, since going with maxtrax as part of the normal load out among those I wheel with frequently I've found we use them far more than we pull cable or strap out; previously there was a lot more of that but with the maxtrax its usually just a matter of getting them positioned and...

Soooo....I got stuck! Any recovery advice?

Using a snatch block with the winch option would assist, just keep in mind you'll want to break the suction of the mud (again) when you return to the scene before extracting. Personally I'd buy once/cry once with maxtrax for the next time. 2 pair are not cheap, but you get what you pay for...

Hmmm...I like what you did there in the hatch, when I pull the trim eventually for backup camera wiring I may follow your lead! You black out your wheels yet? I think that will look sweet on your color truck. r- R

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Very glad it is in any way helpful; good to know on the Prospeed stuff too-I am psyched about the rack & think it probably is the best looking one for the 3/4 by far, admittedly I was a little dismayed at the absence of follow through by the company. The Rep was extremely helpful and...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Cargo area lighting revisit I have found the rear cargo area to be rather dark, perhaps a facet of usually unloading in a parking garage and having a black interior but coupled with the rather anemic single bulb I'd long figured it might be worth revisiting the lighting back there. Ultimately...

My LR3 lightweight storage platform build (UPDATED: actual dimensions on pg 4)

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Unofficial lug nut roundup Amidst jet lag, laundry for the next trip, and work antics I found some time today to actually take a look at the recently arrived gorilla lugs and then take some pics amidst putting them on the truck. Bottom line: if you see yourself taking your wheels off a fair...

    Fire extinguisher placement

I have two, both at the bottom of blue ridge overland panels hanging on the back seat. Not as immediately reachable as I'd like but a compromise to retain the cabin space.

    LR3 without airbags??

Interesting, mind sharing details of what exactly you did since I am now no longer in need of that switch!

    LR3 without airbags??

In terms of checking it out, I'm biased (mine is coil converted) bc I think its a damn good looking truck-but other details are important like mileage and maint history. There are lift kits avail for it; OME's setup is +~2" but there are other options that give you various heights, mostly from...

Coyote; aka my 96 D1 5 speed build thread

The slow process of playing with her while overseas and 7500mi away continues, this weekend got a chance to mount a couple of pairs of maxtrax. More time with her in a few weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    A little overwhelming...

Somewhere in my build thread (s) I have my layout for both my D1 & my D3. My D1's was first so by the time the 3 came along I knew what I used and how I liked stuff stored. Each fits into a 1510 sized case and uses tool rolls, wrench rolls, etc for organization. Single best tip I've used over...

The DiscoDavis Discovery 3 Build Thread

My vot partner slept in his and had some jerry rigged mesh, a more refined version would be to get some screen and magnetic tape, glue gun the screen to the tape in appropriate dimension and there is some airflow. These also strike me as an even more elegant, if costly, solution...

    Chines Radiators?

Sometimes its better to find one of those old school dark and smokey places where they can recore your radiator locally vice ordering an unknown quality one-just a thought. r- Ray

Definitely, I'm on the Facebook page with those guys and also frequent the Land Rover (Defender Source/D90) happy hours (even in absentia I try to get there) held at Kilroys in Springfield. We can def link up this summer. r- Ray

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

I went with Plastidip, take a look at page 19 of this thread-should be a lot of pics of the process but it was fairly straightforward, even leaving them on the truck to do it: -clean the wheels good. -mask the tire, I used post it notes tucked between the rim lip and the tire and then taped...
