    LR3 Headlamp bulb replacement

LR3 headlamps have two sliding levers on each headlight that raise and allow it to be pulled out; if clearance isn't an issue (as it may well be with the ARB's bull bar) it's very simple and easy to pull the whole assembly where you can then access the bulb(s). Sadly I'm guessing even with the...

Disco 2 got wet. Inside. :(

I'd also suggest a search over on dweb, it's a rough place but if you are looking for Discovery tech in the U.S., its there. r- Ray

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Thank you, it's def been an effort not to over do modifications and to retain some of the relative elegance of the truck + its on road manners. The wife is a good arbiter of what is a healthy balance truth be told (hence not pulling the trigger on a rear swing away, yet, maybe). I'm back next...

    Scepter fuel cans

So what Vati Kaki posted appears to be two milspec water (MWC) and one milspec fuel (MFC); the dimensions are the same (for obvious reasons). My first hand experience with them both is why I posted the milspec holder in my initial post. Decades of us using them on military vehicles can't be...

    1999 Disco I 300TDi: Fixes, Mods, & Trips

Twin TT's will be a sweet setup, my truck runs a TT in the back and a 4 pin open dif in the front and with the 5 speed in 4 low locked it does very, very well. The gearing, as others have alluded, may be an issue though. I have 4.11's in my setup on 255/85's (33's) and it runs pretty good...

    Scepter fuel cans

For what kind of application? On a roof rack, inside a truck bed, etc? You can't go wrong with a milspec jerry can bracket if you are talking the milspec scepter fuel cans, something like this: http://olive-drab.com/od_mvg_jerry_can_vehicle_mount.php There's a range of other options of course...

Disco I: Rear cargo mounting options

Looks like a nicely built setup on a pretty clean truck. I'd suggest that you may want to bite the bullet and either go through the floor on either side with some cargo tie downs or use existing hardware tie-ins in those cubbies on either side to interface with. Personally with that setup I'd...

    1999 Disco I 300TDi: Fixes, Mods, & Trips

Do the buckets need air lines to activate, or are the mechanically driven? Regardless I'm jealous and looking forward to seeing where you are going-I am seriously thinking about ARBs upon return to Coyote full time.

New product from Proud Rhino! The SYA Off Road Extension Kit

From what I've seen/heard/read: IID. A lot more functionality in the IID, whereas the LLAMS is a great way to change heights at any speed without diving through interfaces. Each has their application, but if you were going to get just one, get the IID.

    First Land Rover!

Welcome to the sickness. You are getting good advice here, I'd echo Howski's and say take the truck out in stock form and learn it first-then mod it. Carts input on shocks is dead on too. Personally I'd say follow the track you are on and: -ensure the front DS is serviceable, and serviced...

    LR4 multi purpose duty

Good info on pulling the tire carrier-that may help negotiations with the better half who rightly points out the tailgate is one of the best things about the truck. In terms of parking sensors individually being turned off with IID, I don't think they can be-at least I couldn't figure it out...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

More playing with lights! Scuff plates & rear seat covers added too Been on the road a ton and with projects either waiting for logistics to catch up or not at the appropriate time not too much has been happening. Never let that get in the way of a Rover owner doing something so that the...

New product from Proud Rhino! The SYA Off Road Extension Kit

I almost want LLAMS just b/c it sounds so awesome....even if my truck doesn't change height anymore :) In all seriousness, when I ordered my Traxide kit it was apparent that now is the time to get stuff from AUS given the exchange rate.

LR3 A Frame Brush Guard Modification

No affiliation with the seller but figured this was a good thread to highlight what appears to be 2 of the OE winch trays from Warn for the LR3, for those that dare to go to Dweb (I'm the one further in the thread telling him to consider coming over here given the numbers of LR3/4 owners)...

Mossberg 500 Shotgun Build for Gunsite 260 Class

Great write up, will be interested to see how it shakes out for the course-and if you like the light in that configuration. I've never liked lights on shotguns unless they were the surefire foreends. r- Ray

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Glad my ramblings can help in any small way, congrats on the new truck-pics look interesting, especially with what appears to be a color matched ARB. My build slowed down a bit b/c of work and a lot of time on the road, there's a few more things in the works over the next few months I think...

    Discovery 3 (LR3) and Discovery 4 (LR4) Registry

Don't do it...keep the TDi, buy an LR3...trust me, life is better with both a D1 & 3!

I need an entry level AR 15 education

I think for an entry level AR DI is the way to go, but do find piston guns growing on me. It doesn't help that last week I got to put some rounds downrange with one of these at work..the M27 IAR is a very nice, and very accurate rifle.

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

Umbertob's reccomendations are spot on; disable the automatic function of the lamps and also swap over to LEDs for lower draw. I did the same, albeit at 6000k, and have been very happy with the results.

Coyote; aka my 96 D1 5 speed build thread

I've been looking for decent condition Saudi grills since arrival for either D1 or Dii's; thus far all that I've found have been pretty busted up-the sun takes a toll on things out here as you might imagine and the plastic on Rovers is no exception. I'll redouble my efforts though along with...
