Not sure what your point here is. You seem confused about the difference between wvo and biodiesel. Like you said, to run wvo takes "special systems" and a second tank, so simply putting raw wvo into your tank is a really bad idea.
I don't blame you there. It is amazing what some set ups...
That is correct.
Same here. The truck started just fine. It does take a few more miles to reach operating temperature before you can switch over but I have found a 'winter front' helps.
I have been doing that all winter, off course I would never start on SVO though, even if it was 100 degrees...
I think you are confusing biodiesel with SVO (straight vegetable oil). Even if you plugged into some sort of tank heater you still have the fuel lines with gelled fuel, along with the fuel filter which will also be clogged. This is one reason why some choose SVO over biodiesel.
My system flows just fine, like I said in sub freezing conditions and uses no electric aids what so ever. Even the valves are manually operated.
I still only use coolant to heat the oil. You are right refueling can be much harder depending on the situation. If it's stored in a heated garage...
No, I didn't buy a kit. They are all way overpriced and of poor quality. I built it myself but borrowed a plumbing diagram from someone. Your 93 dodge would be a great truck to convert. If you could upgrade the fuel pump to the piston style of the 2nd gen you would be even better off. Send me a...
I just finished this svo conversion in my 95 Cummins. works great.

Before the Dodge I had a 92 ford that I converted. Drove it all the way down to central mexico and back last winter.

Any updates? I am looking for a fridge that runs on propane. The ARB ones are nice but I need the propane since I will be parked at one spot for over a few weeks at a time.
Be advised camping is illegal in little cottonwood canyon utah, this includes the 'town' of Alta and Snowbird. They patrol regularly in these areas and in winter time the avalanche danger can by high.
Yep they are in Nayarit. San Blas and Sayulita. Sayulita has the left and right. I am driving back down there in a few months. This time hopefully Cummins powered!
Good luck. The chip factory sounds like a good idea, wish I had thought of that when I went down to mexico last winter. I drove from Idaho down to the central pacific coast with a 135lb Newfoundland dog and 92 ford diesel (old Smokey) converted to WVO.
Personally I would not have somebody else...
I have been checking Texas. I will keep looking. My old man just moved to San Antonio so buying one there would be very easy. I also have flight benefits so I can expand my search to include pretty much everywhere east of the mississippi. The problem I have run into though is many I have seen...
I appreciate the input and advice. I am not really stuck on looking for a low mileage cummins for the reasons you state. That 98 I wanted to buy had 245k.
This truck is definitely not set up the way I would have it if I owned it. I would get rid of the 5 inch lift more than likely and go to a...
What do you all think of this one? I did a carfax and verified the mileage to be correct. I would definitely change a few things if i bought it like remove the 5 inch lift in favor of a 3 .

Thanks for posting. I called on one of the craigslist ads you posted but the truck was sold. Another one I called and its still for sale but somebody is supposedly coming by tonight with cash to buy it. I will keep searching!
Thanks. Yes the one in NV was the one I was hoping to get. I was planning on flying there today to pick it up! The seller backed out last night.
I am looking for a 12 valve extended cab long bed.
Well things fell through so I am back in the market again on the never ending quest it seems to buy a decent cummins. If anyone finds anything let me know.
thanks.
