Want to sell Harley FLHX for a BMW 1200GS

Great call. Based on my experience, I would go Triumph 800 or BMW 1200 GS. Both are excellent machines, with the BMW being a better long-distance cruiser and the Triumph better on the dirt.

    Nice G Spotted

Nice. Never a fan of the fuel cans mounted to the side, but the rest looks good.

Yeah, I am 6'1" ;) I have some great images of that truck somewhere. I will look them up.

    Is it really that bad?

Come right in, the water's fine. . . Land Rovers are not Toyotas (thank goodness)

The Original EarthRoamer. New ER2K Owner With Some Show and Tell

It is a nice truck. The thing I remember most was not being able to stand up in the back. Talk about a stiff neck.

I need bar risers - but how much?

I usually go with a 30mm bar riser and rotate the bars up a touch. I am 6'1", and this works for most bikes. On my Husky, I needed to raise and rotate the bars, plus lower the pegs 10mm and move them 10mm rearward too. Funky ergos on that bike.

    Overland Journal: G-Wagen

Two turbos- perfect. Thanks for the correction, I was not aware that Merc abandoned the G320 = G with 3.2L convention.

Can I sell X in this forum and not be a sponsor?

It is fine to sell items like this on the forum without being a vendor. You must be a vendor/sponsor if you are selling new or used items for a profit.

    external wiring on an LR3/4

It is tough. . . I just ran the wires under the front windshield cowling and behind the door bulb seal. Only place I could find without risky drilling.

    Overland Journal: Discovery I, 5-speed

I am currently running the 245/75 BFG AT KO. It has been a great size and flawless tire. However, I am a Land Rover owner, so I must fit something less functional and practical. Queue the 7.5 XZL! ;)

    ExPo: G-Wagen Registry

1995 463 3.2L Originally a Europa import, purchased new from a friend of mine. The truck was already well traveled before I took ownership, driving all the way to Saint John's in Newfoundland. I have owned it since 2009, and used it for everything from daily driving duties to MARSOC training. ...

    Overland Journal: G-Wagen

David, I am far from a G expert, but certainly have my opinion :) I would find a Europa 463 with a diesel or the 3.2L. All the comfort and refinement you need, but none of the electronic issues. I would certainly buy a newer G-Wagen, but only with a 6.3L, because the only thing that can make a...

Considering a G... Help me decide if and which

For what you want to do, find a 463 with the 3.2L straight six (or any diesel model 463). A 1996-1998 model is ideal. That motor was ubiquitous in Mercedes sedans imported to the US and exceptionally reliable. Just know that you are buying something closer in DNA to a tank than a car. It will be...
