Torque Wrenches- Massive price spectrum, what do I actually need?

Good advice here. Check out what torque levels you're gonna need because you may very quickly be into 1/2" drive range. For limited use around the house, there's really no need for the quality of Snap-on (although their stuff is superb). I've had a Craftsman DigiTork for decades and it gets...

Has anyone purchased gear from this website?

ISTR the guy who started the company -- literally in his garage I believe -- was on this forum at one time, and a number of people have reported good things about some of the tools, such as the Scepter wrench.

    The Field

Yup, got the catalog. They musta rented the OJ mailing list, eh? I gotta admit the cover was the best part. Interesting that the online version of their catalog HERE has a much less Expo-y cover. Maybe we're special. I was underwhelmed with the things they're offering -- and not just based...

Dealer Service on a '12 JKUR, do they even know what Rubicon is?

This thread is worth a read. Horrifying in places, but ya gotta love hearing the truth. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=169005

Dealer Service on a '12 JKUR, do they even know what Rubicon is?

Holy cow -- will you ever trust them on any job again? I'd find a new dealer. From my experience, the "culture" in a dealer's shop is persistent over years and years, and if they just aren't that good now it's unlikely they'll ever get there.

Locked door of my car - searching for a locksmith

Different folks have different levels of fluency with forums. At least this post isn't trying to spam us into some crap from China. I'm guessing the op's user name gives a hint to their location... But I'd also agree it's an electrical problem not a lock problem.

    Roninjiro aluminum Nissan D40 camper

Nice thinking. This will be fun to watch. The clearance from the front extension to the cab looks really tight. Do you think it will stay clear during off-road or unimproved road flex?

New/old trailer build 1966 Apache Raven tent trailer

Man, that looks nice! Great work. I've enjoyed watching this upgrade -- and I love those old Apache campers. Our family camped in a 1968 Apache Eagle for many years. My Dad sold it without telling me in the late 80s 'cause he knew I'd insist he keep it if he told me. I still miss it. One...

Land Rover Defender still dominates tran-Africa overlanding

Maybe it's 'cause I'm not a Land Cruiser owner, but thiis Toyota owner doesn't make his LR fandom a secret! I do force myself to only own one British vehicle, though. If I break that rule, the next one's a 109 SII/SIIA. The best part of the story is how both Toyota and LR owners are...

Land Rover Defender still dominates tran-Africa overlanding

So you've concluded I'm not a Rover advocate? Why? Because I don't own one? That doesn't prevent me from being a fan of the marque. Don

Land Rover Defender still dominates tran-Africa overlanding

I'm not sure how that data could get under anyone's skin, frankly. The number of vehicles reported ranges annually from 40 to 80. The Toyota to LR ratio ranges from 40:60 to 60:40. So a swing of fewer than 5 vehicles can flip the "winner" in some years. Seems that the sample size is so small...

    Estwing axe

Have you checked on the garagejournal.com forum? A lot of serious tool collectors and fans on there. I can't remember an Estwing thread, but it's a busy forum and postings usually get dozens of responses in a day or so. That's where I'd go. Don

Kinchrome 24 gal Cargo Boxes at COSTCO $39.97

Those look terrific. Haven't seem them here in the midwest. And with an asterisk-means-not-being-restocked tag, it looks like as with most things Costco, get 'em while they're hot.
