    International TerraStar 4x4

Interesting -- thanks. Is the ground clearance as low as it looks in the pix? I see where International are using stainless steel for the cab on one their other new models (the trash truck cabover).

    Equipt's new platform - The 2013 4Runner Trail

Friend of mine drives one of those. Were I not set between the 2001 Tacoma DC 4WD and the 2008 Lexus RX350 that's EXACTLY what I'd be in. This will be fun to watch. Don

    Custom Wrangler from Morocco

I dunno... as a styling excercise I kinda like it. The combination of the International Lonestar hood, grille, and lights and the Jeep JKU cab -- especially with the big balloon whitewalls -- creates some wierd Dillinger/Chicago gangster effect that works. There's a short video of it HERE.

    LANDROVER GLENFROME 1987 Charleston, SC

One of (only) eight. Thank heaven. It looks sorta like a kid's ride at an amusement park or one of those glitter-covered car rides at the grocery store.

    Security Window Film

The one that's often interested me is the Profilon series of burglary-resistant films from Haverkamp GmbH in Münster, Germany. Kind of expensive from some checking I did a while back, but it seems like a strong solution to smash-and-grab break ins. See especially the .pdf data sheet on the...

Transafrica with a Land Cruiser 200 (Diesel)

These two images say an awful lot about what humans are capable of on this earth. Kinda depressing. Treasure the unspoiled places.

Searching for the Perfect Photo in New Zealand (via Toyota Starlet)

My dad had two criteria for a vehicle. It had to start and it had to be paid for. I can't say I learned that one, but I did come to appreciate the criteria of a friend from many years ago who drove a rust-belt Suburban with lower doors held together with window sceening and roofing tar -- all...

    G63 6x6

The Australian army uses the G-series now, doesn't it? With the 6x6 Perentie having been a proven platform (AFAIK) and now going out of service, it could find a home there. Depending on the load carrying capacity I'd guess a lot of military forces could be target customers. Hard to imagine...

bad battery or not (arguing with Sears)

I'd go to a different Sears store if you can. Might not be better, but you already know what you have at the one you visited.

What kind of Land Cruiser is this?

Not impossible at all. I think a lot of folks here might have gone that or more.

Roof top tent - DIY - Scratch build

Google books has lots publications discussing homemade cartop tents. Here are a few older publications that might give some ideas: http://books.google.com/books?id=BOIDAAAAMBAJ&lpg=PA50&ots=TwpNFLpsxV&dq=homemade car top tent popular mechanics&pg=PA50#v=onepage&q=homemade car top tent popular...

Defender 130/Bimoil Husky 245 Demountable Expedition Campers

Wow -- that looks terrific! What's the camper shell made from? How much does it weigh? Exactly how is it attached -- and lifted for removal? Don PS: Probably mounted similarly to the video on the bimobil von Liebe GmbH website, eh? Very nice. I like the separate mudgards and the clever...

    Camel Trophy

The Great Adventure, published 1993 by SQP SA, Lausanne, Switzerland, is a fantastic book. I had my copy out today and read every line (in English -- the informative but limited text is also in French and German) and looked at every image. It's full of superb photos from the events 1980-1994...

1991 Volkswagen Syncro Double Cab Tristar with only 49 km. $100K.

Jeez... amazing. But at what point does our stuff own us, rather than us owning our stuff. To trailer a vehicle to get the oil changed at a dealer ten miles away just seems way beyond rational...
