I just replaced my radiator in my 7.3 at 320k. It wasn't leaking but the engine was running hot on long climbs. I looked around for an improved aftermarket radiator but had no luck. I ended up putting in a Napa radiator for $189.
I took the ends off of the old one and found 6 channels clogged...
Going to be switching to a hard top soon on my EB van so I'm selling the rack that I now have in place.
It's a gutter mount with 6 VanTech mounts and comes with a passenger side ladder. It's a stout rack yet not overly heavy. Minor paint chips and tree scrapes.
This fits an EB van but I imagine...
Back to a van after 2 years of a pickup and slide in camper. My new to me 2003 7.3L Denver Fleet (Timberline) 4wd conversion. Looking forward to building this thing out to suit my needs.
Here's a link to a thread you might get some info on the Lance 825 & Ford combo: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/120122-Talk-me-out-of-a-2014-Lance-825/page5
I've been pretty happy with it, the only sacrifice is off road ability.
My setup is actually for sale.
It's semi permanent I think. Although it's somewhat difficult to get my bike into the mount since I have a thru-axle, it works well. I haven't had any issues with it and I can still use the ladder if needed.
Another vote for the 7.3L. The overall simplicity of the motor makes for a very reliable platform. I luckily found a 2002 CC 4x4 SB with only 110k miles on it. I love it.
Thanks for the heads up. My model isn't set up the same. The battery is in a sealed and vented case in its own compartment. The converter is in another location as well. I am however probably going to switch over to a dual 6volt AGM setup.
A couple of pics from this weeks short Moab trip. Pretty rough living 1.5 hours from there!
The combo did well again and I got a chance to crawl in 4Lo for a bit getting into a favorite campsite. The higher center of gravity is evident but not scary or unpredictable. I still plan on removing...
My semi float 60 in my 04' SMB was trashed at 54k miles. There was a lot of play in the bearings, enough that the rear tires were wearing unevenly. It had the spacers from SMB as well. In all honesty if you do a fair bit of off roading fully loaded I would either not put spacers on or change out...
A couple of pics from our 1st trip with the Lance 825
First impressions. Were pretty good despite some quality control issues from the factory. I found several leaks from fittings that were not tightened. All accessible and no damage was done but it is a new camper and shouldn't have issues...
Great photos!! Looks like a good trip! I was wondering if it would be soupy out there with the snowmelt but it looks ok.
Very fond of that area and spend a lot of time out there. Even kayaked the Dirty Devil from Hanksville to Powell.
I'd put the 350 blocks back in. It should sit about right with that height. As far as engaging the overloads sooner a local spring shop here can index (bend) them up to make contact with less compression.
I'm running 35x12.50 17's with 3:73's and limited slip in the rear. The truck seems to do...
