Looking good! When I got my gutted Premier I was worried it wasn’t as cool as the concourse with its big windows. Then I realized they would only make the interior buildout more difficult. The small sink window and large rectangular dinette/couch windows were a better call. Will be cool to see...
Wow, that seems like a great deal for a year 2000, 21’ RV with 66k. Very Chinook-like, plus the side entry is nice. Wasn’t aware of Starflyte. Wish this was on the west coast!
I’m sure it’ll look good no matter what you pick. I think most campers and RVs end up lighter colored to be neutral for most buyers, and to stay cooler in the sun. White roof prob helps the most for that though.
Love the build. I sold my Chinook project b/c baby #2 just showed up. I will...
I’ve always thought those Knapheide Utility bodies would make a good rig. Some are a little small inside, but you could probably get creative and cut/modify some things. They’re a lot like the old, “slope side” ambos.
Nice! I think the ERVs (Emergency Response Vehicle) are a great setup. Built like an ambo, but the utility of a box truck. Already empty inside and ready to build. Some windows. No side door, but that can be added.
A Red Cross buddy drives an ERV a lot. They call it “Merv the ERV” and it gets...
Yeah, I was hoping the diesel one was mounted to a 90s dodge 4wd pickup frame. An even newer pickup would make a cool swap if you had the time and space!
Oh yeah, it's super rough. Not for me at this point, but could be cool for the price. I was sent some better pics, and it's not that great. It doesn't look like this is sitting on a factory 4wd frame, there's some rusty, rough cut, welded on spring perches and such. Not sure what all was done to...
Any updates? There’s currently a 1992 Phasar for sale in Roseburg. It’s got a 5.9 diesel and looks 4wd but ad says AWD? Any idea what it’s built on? Wonder if they swapped it on a pickup frame in similar style to your Astro frame.

Not sure on value as is. I’d say finish it and you’ll get a bit more $$. There are always lots of half finished projects for sale that “just need a few things.” You always wonder why they aren’t finished if it’s so easy. Spring is coming, and with that vanlife dreams start happening, and prices...
"my latest and maybe last ambulance project is for sale." Nooo....
Well, at least it's a good one! Maybe you'll find something cool on an island over there?
Ah, too bad, at least you learned something more about it. I'm sure someone could swap one in, it's just a nice surprise to find you have one! My single rear wheel E350 ambo with a D70 and 4.10 gears had one. Same with my dually E350 Chinook. Never put them to the test, but nice to know it's...
