Wow, that’s really nice. Plus it’s got a van passenger/co-pilot door and side entry for the back. Seems reasonable for under 100k miles and an ‘06. Guess the 6.0 scares people away a bit more than if it was a 7.3. I like my Chinook, but I’d take that limo bus any day.
The Ursa ones are cool. But they're for the smaller Transit Connect. You can have them installed in CA, or Portland, OR. I was considering a Connect for one. Only issue is they don't work with the factory sunroof as it's too much hassle to remove.
That Transit Custom looks real cool. Of course...
Yeah, that seems nice with wind and clearances. My side door had a gas piston damper, but the back had none. I almost broke my arm once when one door was closed and the other blew shut in a gust...and my arm was in between... Kept thinking of a way to add a damper or lockout or something.
That’s looking good. I think there was a note on mine about that small battery compartment being special order. It’s a little tight in there with all the batteries, charger, inverter, breakers, etc. I always meant to take the vacuum pump out and replace with my small Viair compressor.
Pretty...
Interesting build. Besides being cool, what's the reason for the 'benz motor in a 'disco? Reliability, increased mpg, etc.? I'm more familiar with people putting them in Toyotas. Is the OM617 comparable to LR diesels that weren't available here?
I just saw a Pleaure-way Tofino van online. Cool, simple design. MSRP $69550. Wood cabinets and such, so not sure on weight. Good price point and simple build. Will be interesting to see how they sell. There’s definitely a market.
Wow! Great work tearing into that. I saw that mini mod posted on CL in WA and was tempted again... I had a 1997 Horton mini mod. Fun rig. I didn’t do much modding to it, mainly just used it. Really nicely built.
There’s a Google drive link in here with all the Horton docs they sent me. Helpful...
Try putting it in drive and going straight. Then maybe same in reverse. Sometimes the transfer case can get bound up a little. Especially if you turned while in reverse and maybe had extra traction? Often times I need to back up a little in reverse to get the shifter out of 4wd.
I just spotted this system in this ex-rescue rig for sale on Ebay. Cool, simple drawer lock system that keeps the drawers in place. It probably locks the drawer in position once pulled out. I'm guessing that square knob has a dowel/pin on the back that locks into a hole in the side of the...
