E350 weight for Weldtec Grocery getter kit

Might be a CAT scale near you. They’ve got a map search tool. Better to spend some time and get the weight right, vs not and having it sit funky.

Using tool chests or file drawers as cabinets in a van or RV build?

I just saw this nice RV build n a box truck with a big tool chest/work counter.

The Gnarhauler: Another white cargo van.

That thicker thinsulate seems to be good stuff, insulated and sound deadens too. Spendy, but good R value and installs fairly easily. Won’t rattle or squeak. Expands/compresses to fit weird spaces. There’s a guy selling it on eBay that lives in hood river.

Oh yeah, high price for sure. Cool setup though. Gotta wonder what places that was setup in its previous life. Guess they’re adding on the “cool diesel” tax...

    E350 10ft Box Van

I think this is the perfect combo of size and weight. Ambo boxes are great, but real heavy. Same for RVs.

The Gnarhauler: Another white cargo van.

Nice work with the router. I like that flanged style of track that cleanly covers the flooring. The floor in my RV is already 1.5” of plywood, so I plan on mounting the L track directly onto that, then adding some kind of underlayment to level out the floor to frame bolts already there. Then...

Wow that surveillance RV is cool. With rear ARB locker?! Bummer on the tire blowout damage, but not the end of the world.

The Gnarhauler: Another white cargo van.

Ah, the L Track stud makes sense. I thought it was just regular bolts from the pic. I found some transit seats at an upfitter shop. They have these cool washers they mounted the L track and seats with. Lots of holes in them to offset the weird stuff under a van. Biggest is 1/4” thick, 3/16”...

The Gnarhauler: Another white cargo van.

Nice build. I like the flooring with the track and seats. I had some transit seats, but they all had the wrong leg offset for what I wanted to do. Those suckers are heavy! Nice work on the mounting plate welded on the base, that’s a good solution. I also wanted something that folded flat, so I...

Ambulance dual alternators? keep or toss?

My ‘97 ambo had the huge 215 amp Mitsubishi alternator. I had it rebuilt when it went bad. Those things aren’t cheap to buy new! It might be easier to find one or two smaller alternators if needed on a road trip. Can you get a smaller belt that lets you just run one? Then you could do the...

    Vuck time!!!!!!!!

Subscribed! Those cab backs are a cool product. Should look amazing with the M105 bed on there. Does it line up well w/ the existing axle placement and cab back? Great shop, too.

    Composting Toilet Tips and Tricks

Something like this ~$286 SmartJon seems like a good compromise between the ~100 bucket w/ a pine box around it, and the ~1000 Natures Head/Airhead. I like that the Smart Jon seems to be made on a small scale, with a lot of off-the-shelf components. Basically classing up the bucket for liquid...

    Composting Toilet Tips and Tricks

My Chinook's whole water/toilet/tank system was removed long before I got it. I think a composting toilet and (maybe) a small tank underneath would be a whole lot easier to add back in. If you're removing the pee bottle, does it make sense to go with another brand/DIY over the $900+ Nature's...

    97 E350 Crestline Ambo Build/Mod

So I contacted Quadvan here in Portland, Oregon. They take BRAND NEW, ZERO MILE front ends off 2018 2WD E350 cutaways and convert to 4WD. So, they have lots of front ends available. I think it's like $500 for everything strapped on a pallet, plus whatever shipping. So you not only upgrade radius...
