It is a cycle life question. If you are not cycling the batteries much then there is no justification for the extra cost of lithium. If you are cycle killing a lead acid within a few years, then lithium makes sense. It is all about your planned usage.
There is also no justification for AGM...
This is misleading. With all of the two way devices, you can use the SOS for any purpose including getting a tow truck. They respond and ask you the situation and what type of help you need before sending anything. There is no issue with using them to call for something as simple as a tow truck.
Zoleo is a better choice. I've had one since the spring. It works well.
There are pros and cons between Zoleo and Inreach and it depends on your type of usage.
Seem crazy that they have a cold limit. The worst that could happen if it is colder out is the battery is a bit undercharged. It would really suck to have your charger die on you at -40.
It is a bit of apples and oranges. A bike has non synchronized gears. The same is true with large trucks. These are easier to shift without a clutch than synchros.
It does. If you change any part that has electronics it needs to be calibrated and configured with the rest of the vehicle systems before it can be used. This can only be done with the proprietary Land Rover systems. If the system crashes and needs to reinstalled, what are you going to do...
Wait until you get the BSOD!!! My real concern is what happens in 10, 15 or 20 years with these vehicles? There will be no software support and the hardware will all be obsolete.
Keep in mind that video was only a small part of them trying to update the software. There are two previous videos..... And this guy is the biggest pro Land Rover guy on the planet.
