For any serious overlanding diesel wins out. Range is better and this difference becomes much larger when you are driving a lot of off road. My truck runs an easy 1100 miles with on board fuel and range does not get a lot worse when much of that is in low range.

A public forum is not really the correct place to encourage illegal radio use. In any case, 2 Watts is the handheld limit for FRS. GMRS handhelds are allowed 5 Watts. The problem is that combination units must limit to 2 Watts and nobody wants to sell a GMRS only radio.

To be fair they did not fix the check engine light issue. They just did random repairs and it went away for now. You need the backup camera as you can’t see behind you in any modern vehicle.

If you cycle a normal battery by using a fridge while camping, it will not last very long. If you have a fridge, you really want a second battery. You leave yourself open to not having enough battery to start the engine in the morning.

You don't need solar for your stated usage. The battery will be fine on its own.

It would be $3000 if offered as a option with a new Land Rover.
