    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

OPEN HOUSE ;) Not that you'd want to attend unless you are in the area and have at least some interest in Sprinters, but if you're also a fan of the XV-JP, be sure to stop by and give it a look tomorrow at Northwest SprinterFest. Because of the extensive work done by both Paul Jensen and NWSF...

AT IT AGAIN: Paul and Mike Convert a Mid/Tall T1N Sprinter Cargo

Much excitement over the next couple of days, what with tomorrow being both NW SprinterFest and this afternoon being when Paul brings the truck back to its if-not-permanent, then at least longer-term, home. We'll have the truck at SprinterFest tomorrow between 10 and 4 in Paul's part of the...

Tomorrow looks great Looks like mostly sunny and mid-60s tomorrow :sunny: so if you've in or near Metro Portland and have any interest in Sprinters or their conversion, show up tomorrow sometime between 10 and 4. Upscale is expecting to have a record number of vehicles attending. If you...

100 Series Land Cruiser (Equipt Built)

I personally would MUCH rather have the selling price discounted than have the previous owner do my tire selection for me. Others might have a different opinion, but I'd very much rather receive a lower price and choose my own.

    Awnings + rain/wind = disaster?

That's good to tell people, as I should have been a lot clearer. Once the Foxwing has its poles up and the guy ropes in place over the top of the poles, then you're in good shape. What I meant to stress is that while being deployed, there's a lot of potential for problems from the wind if only...

    9TH NW SPRINTERFEST--Sat. 4/12/14; Tualatin, OR (w/ 4WD Sprinters for Test Drives)

AWOL. Just think, though, how the current setup could contribute to you seeing the vast scope of this great land of ours. :sombrero: Seriously, I don't know, since it certainly makes sense to have one. Find another Sprinter or two and you can start it. There weren't but a handful of us at the...

    Awnings + rain/wind = disaster?

The Foxwing awning is great, but not for inclement weather. Even in a modest breeze, it takes two people to deploy. If a gust gets under it and snatches it, it can destroy the hinge mechanism. It's just too much surface area to work well in a big wind. Very nice all other times.

Fuso FG - best year and other questions

Thanks for collecting all of that information in one place. It'll be helpful for a lot of people. I, too, think that your first decision point needs to be whether you'll be going where they don't have Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel. All the rest is negotiable, but that's pretty much a go/no-go sort of...

AT IT AGAIN: Paul and Mike Convert a Mid/Tall T1N Sprinter Cargo

Well, it doesn't seem like this design is too far off. Got the facing chairs and the board game table, and good reading lights over the sofa. And while Paul stopped short of mounting the TV, it goes on an arm that swings it in front of the slider, so that's covered. Paul stopped doing...

    9TH NW SPRINTERFEST--Sat. 4/12/14; Tualatin, OR (w/ 4WD Sprinters for Test Drives)

PromasterFest? We all got an e-mail today John with updates on Saturday's NW SprinterFest, and the big news is that the SprinterStore is going to do some Promaster parts for sale and also that they'll be a spiffed-up Promaster on display along with the Sprinters. It'll be sort of cool to have...

AT IT AGAIN: Paul and Mike Convert a Mid/Tall T1N Sprinter Cargo

I appreciate this piece of useful information. Very handy for people who, unlike Paul, are actually willing to buy things from a store as opposed to building them all from scratch. :sombrero:

AT IT AGAIN: Paul and Mike Convert a Mid/Tall T1N Sprinter Cargo

Yeah, I've thought about it . . oh . . . endlessly. For starters, the slider is a pain in the butt compared to a regular door, hard to work and damn noisy when you have to shut it at 11:30 in a crowded campground. One of the best (and guttiest) mods made on a Sprinter was to weld the slider...

    Is this my new LX470?

A fine truck, and as it is a 2004, it has a bunch of significant improvements that hit in 2003. If the car has been maintained on schedule, and you keep up the maintenance, it is legitimately a quarter-million mile truck. I've had two of them and they were flawless. That said, it is well worth...

    Mercedes 407D Full Timer Build

I'm going to guess that you already know of the book Travel Vans by John Speed, but on the off-chance that you don't, it's a book devoted to the planning for and conversion of a mid-90s 814 of similar size. Good overviews of the way to put in the different systems. I went to put down the link...

    Full-Size w/ Flippac or Sprinter/Promaster?

There are strengths and weakness to everything, but having the living quarters accessible to the cab will, especially with a family, prove to be an advantage to you each and every time. If you like the Promaster, it's cheaper and is a little easier to build out; the Mercedes is the more highly...

    Nylosheet?

King Starboard is fine stuff, and it is stiff, stiffer than normal boards or plywood of the same thickness. Also easy to keep clean. But it costs what seems to me to be a lot of money. Most suppliers want over $400 for a 3/4 inch thick 4.5 x 8 sheet, and that's before some very expensive...

Nutsert/Rivet Nuts - Anyone here have experience with these?

Thanks for the video. In non-production settings, these "sheet nuts" are usually installed with a hand plier tool that's similar to using a pop rivet gun. I'd never seen an adapter for a drill. Looks like it might work well, though the loss of "feel" might be a bother in some situations...

There are a bunch of S&S LMTVs (cab-over 4x4 trucks) on Government Liquidation

[PublicServiceAnnoucement] Just be sure to check everything out carefully for your own situation. It's all well and good to be enthusiastic, but depending on who you are and where you live, there could be issues with one or more of the following: Meeting emission regulations Required diesel...
