    RTT with ARB roof rack

theres no need to hack your rack if you want the rails for use without the tent. attach 7/8" unistrut to the tent, and use 4 unistrut beam clamps. sure, with your rack youre up high, but just wrap a 6" strip of roofing rubber around the front and youre no less areodynamic than those of us with...

    100 rear lower control arms.

i removed the sway bars and the rear rubber helpers long ago. with the 2.5" lift and 33's i could twist from stock bump stop to shock limit rather easily. in this application i dont think the johnny joint is doing much. i liked it because its threaded in and i can get the 1/4" extra to reset the...

    100 rear lower control arms.

actually less, BUT, the way they are designed, theres about zero chance of getting hung up at the axle tube mount. basically the two arguments are 1) avoid the object by curving the arm and letting the tire hit first. keep in mind, this ONLY works on a ledge or an object that will actually...

    100 rear lower control arms.

ahhh... yea. that was for 2. needless to say, i just ordered those. the bow in my current arms has a induced a drone at 53mph, which means my pinion angle was barely within tolerance to begin with. i can correct it with these arms, and with .290 walls, i can slide on them. Thanks guys.

    100 rear lower control arms.

thanks. another option. johnny joint and they look adjustable, designed as a slider it seems. 650 may be steep for a set of arms, but if the options are useful..... i guess ill have to sleep on it. i emailed ajik to inquire as to the bar material, diameter and if they recommended the...

    100 rear lower control arms.

they are 1-1/16th solid bar, so a permanent deforming is unlikely, unless its some soft steel. 1 3/4 x .25 tubes will be more ridged due to diameter, but not necessarily stronger when force is applied unevenly to a point in the middle, such as slamming on a big rock. ive only barber poled the...

    100 rear lower control arms.

i have the material on hand, but its not worth the time to rebend them back again. at 180,000 miles, for 300 with bushings, why go thru the hassle of modifying an inferior part. unsuccessfully trying to avoid body damage i had to use them as a slider. i want something out of the way, or made...

    100 rear lower control arms.

theres the slee 27.5 mm straight solid the Ajik unknown dia straight solid and the Wild West .25x1.75 DOM arched. the cheapest are the slee at 300, and the others with bushings around 425. i cant seem to make up my mind, if the arch is worth it. the solids cant be dented, but i doubt .25 dom...

A POP UP YOU'VE NEVER SEEN- The FERNWEH MOBIL

next time you use it, please take pics of the system. my alaskan has a dutch door with a spring loaded pull down. i did about 90% of a cad drawing using a similar base as yours, but a raised hard top and full cab over, and i never could come up with a lower door method that i found satisfactory.

i notice your rack rails are perpendicular not longitudinal like mine. it would be interesting to see the difference in a wind tunnel.

    Alaskan Campers

i do love mine, and i think used, they are a fabulous camper for state parks and beaches if found in great shape. but even being an owner and a fan, i'm sure i'd go a different route if buying new and planning on medium to difficult trails. too much flex in the stick build. i wish they would...

A POP UP YOU'VE NEVER SEEN- The FERNWEH MOBIL

on one hand, i love the airplane style door, on the other, it seems like a bit of a pain when wanting to enter and exit frequently when bugs are about. you'd have to keep opening and closing it to enter and exit. i can never come to terms if i'd love it or hate it.
