Ratchet straps are harmless to roto molded hulls. If it's a simple plastic hull, that's what I go for first. Fiberglass and carbon hulls need extra care, but they often have proper attachment points as well. (Epic at least)
Might want to slide apiece of rubber under the metal latches in...
Not bashing little trucks or anything. But on the east coast and midwest, 99% of the travel and Expo camping I did with my Jeep YJ or our small trucks in our group, I was completely jealous of the fullsize guys the entire time. It's really a choice you have to make based on where you're...
Do any of these tight roads lead anywhere??? If the point of the trail, is only to drive off road, then it's 4wheelin', not Expo travel.
On our Jeep roads, a Drz400 can complete the entire trail 10 times quicker than a Jeep, snap pics and enjoy lunch, be back down the trail and loaded back...
I use a wireless clamp on back up camera on my right rear bed side, pointed forward as a spotter. Only when the right mirror is folded in.
If it gets too tight, I can go around or deploy the bikes.
Pass through makes sense in an Earthroamer because you can ride in the back right? I'm not understanding the point of one in a slide in camper.
I'm also not getting the weird window in the bottom front of truck campers, I was going to insist on having it built without a window there at...
Because Ford fans that's why. Every momo with ego issues will be freaking out that there's a thicker frame out there that they didn't order. The other guys will be wondering whats wrong with the thinner frame, and worry about their frames splitting in half like a Toyota. ''Why not use the...
It's all in your head. It takes no effort to shift gears with an automatic transmission. The new gas Fords have a giant muffler and 87 cats. There is no screaming anymore. Our GM's and Dodges areabout the same, give or take whether or not they have the diesel sound insulation still on...
I like the idea that everything you need fits in a backpack.
I carry that idea over to my camper, and it's served me well. I just want AC, a shower, and walls now. Paper plates and cups, toss them in the campfire afterwards.
You can always swap soft springs under an F250/350. Solid axle or not, it's easy to make them ride decent.
But you can't rewrite a sticker rating that's too light.
I use my aux switches to arm the coil of a relay that feeds power from the battery to the contacts of another realy. That relays coil is powered by the highbeams. So now I can use my highbeams without my aux lights.
My ditch lights on the hood hinge, are simply on the aux switches.
If you...
Trails around me are overgrown single track. Even if they used to be roads. Big trucks carry more bikes. Seriously, small trucks don't help me, they''re still too big for most trails. I think I have to go south to Kentucky for real jeep off roading. But nobody here with a scratch...
I'd love to test drive a loaded Fuso. But now we're in F550 flat bed price range. And I need wheelbase stability more than off road., and a back seat.
My idea of heaven is a little 6.5 camper, no overhang, and some tents if it's more than the two of us. Tow a TT with it if I really need...
My ride was 38,000 OTD. I think 42,000 without the end of year rebates.
My old truck was hardly more than the down payment. Which sucked.
Loaded XL's are my favorite trucks. The upgraded models look blingy to me. The base models, have a Tacoma-ish look to them, that we're...
Why is the F150 CC option so much? It's the same cab. Is this a package deal or misprint? Like does it automatically bump you to Lariat trim or something on the 150's?
