VW production plans for a midsize pickup

Sheetrock and ply are delivered to your driveway for free. Even my f250 will never see that. But it was nice having the room when I moved. And I fill the bed with my yard every weekend for the past year. Landscaping is fun, not.

    3/4 ton fuel economy?

Same here. KN air filters are for cars on dust free tracks. Better off with a cheap STP filter on a dirty truck.

You can make your own test road. Or drive through Detroit. You won't be able to doctor the results in Detroit either, because if you slow down, you die.

VW production plans for a midsize pickup

Can't be as terrible as the Honda. The Honda won't go up a dirt road. When it gets steep the trans, or something like it, just slips. Then it just starts to cook. Lol, the most pathetic thing I ever saw. The concept is pretty ugly though. They didn't make the word "Atlas'', big...

    3/4 ton fuel economy?

Like for like, the diesel only get's 2mpg more unloaded IME. Add a lift and 38" tires, that might be 3-4mpg. The #'s only count if you quantify the exact conditions. For example: 55mph cruise control, perfectly flat ground, no stops, XL OEM wheels tires, 6.2L: 19-20mpg. City #'s are...

I think that's why they made that test road. Only later did they decide to see how other trucks did. There should be a few of those to test different frequencies. And the designers should have done a test on a chassis shaker. But those tests obviously can't always account for real life.

Until you knock that mirror off. They are hardcore $$$ to replace. (assuming F150/250/350 similar pricing)

I agree completely. But it's almost impossible to use civvy numbers as real wear/tear expectations. They vary too wildly. I beat the heck out of my work truck.

For sure. My work trucks shocks have been absolutely toasted for at least 30,000 miles now. I don't want to be the companies 1st tech to complain about shock intervals. I'll likely be stuck with them for the full 200,000 miles.

    2015 F250 Gasser, week points

The 7.3 will be in 350/450/550/650/750 chassis cab trucks. I'd imagine it'll be in rv's and civvy trucks as well. It should have 6.0 diesel levels of towing power. There's huge demand for medium duty like trucks that aren't diesel, milk trucks, powerline bucket trucks etc etc. Local use...

    Ford Fullsize Thread !!!!

Yeah, 6.2. I have a work truck I take home, so it doesn't get enough mileage to keep a diesel healthy. And I don't expect to tow more than 10 000#. And our offroads are really slick, the diesels extra weight suffers. Plans are, as my budget allows, I just bought a house: Bds 4'' suspension...

    2015 F250 Gasser, week points

We know. But it's 5w30. Was never actually 5 20. Ford/Honda: ''Can we run 5 20 For better eco and epa #'s?'' Engineer/yes man: ''Sure, and that'll work, but the engine is designed for 5 30.'' When they changed the modular engines to thinner oils, zero parts were changed. When they...

It's no secret thanks to fleets. Vans and 150's are traded in at 150k / 3-4 years, Super Duties at 200k / 4-5 years. Since fleets don't do any maintenance you have a huge repair bill, or a risky truck that could fail at any moment if you keep it. Let's look at whats due: Trans flush. Diff...

    Chassis Mounted, Removable Propane Tank?

You can hang them upside down, horizontal. Assuming gas withdrawl, not liquid. TTBOMK, forklift tanks are the way to go. Used one for a propane injected diesel back when diesels were still slow. Not sure about legality. But for some reason, lpg and cng get free passes on safety lately.

looking at new trucks and have a question about the Rams

You might want to consider the Ford chassis cab trucks as well. Made in Sheffield Lake, Avon, Ohio area. Nice plant, I've seen it running, they're built right. Then you have 350,450, and 550 to pick from. One of those has to have the ratings you're after. Get bigger axle gears if your...

    6.0 Ford and Snorkel

The dirt roads out my way flood every spring. But they get washed out and slick as well. Anything on less than a 38'' Super Swamper is NOT going to make it through that, if the water reaches bumper height. When the water gets that high, I turn around. We've been stuck many time right...
