    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

Thanks for the compliment, Allen. You came by at a good time. Along about this point: things weren't quite so happy. All's well that ends well, though. ;)

    Adhesive recommendations

And another vote for Sikaflex 252. Ugly stuff, and hard to get off your skin should you ignore your gloves, but an excellent balance of grip and vibration-resistance. It's THE go-to adhesive for mounting windows into cabin walls.

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

As explained a few posts up, I had intended to install a heat exchanger model, but was sent a different part. I've been tied up with some family medical issues and haven't yet gotten the seat out to check the chances of making use of the large all-electric unit I was sent. I can find advantages...

I want it. Let me know the total. Thanks, JL. Mike

    Fox Wing + Airtop?

The Foxwing can be attached either directly through the side of the vehicle (as on my truck) or to the crossbars on a roof rack. Putting holes in the side of your van may or may not appeal to you, plus it'll require backing plates and careful analysis of how well you can brace it, plus it may...

Any Experience Yet with the Superchips TrailDash

I wouldn't argue the point, but I'm content with my belief that there's a case to be made for dedicated components, even though all the functions can be had through appropriate apps on an Android or iOS phones or tablets. I'm willing to have a dedicated performance monitoring system, and if I...

    1979 Mercedes-Benz G240 Diesel

My son, I'll have you know that 25 years ago, that would have been considered a very stylish interior. :sombrero: And in another 25 years, it might be again. (Though I'm kind of hoping not.)

Any Experience Yet with the Superchips TrailDash

Anyone have user opinions about the Superchips TrailDash released a few months ago? I found a few mentions on the Jeep forums, but nothing very critical, in either sense of the word. It'd be great if there were ExPo members willing to share their thoughts. And if you're wondering WTH a...

    UNIMOG_UNICAT_EXPEDITION_VEHICLE

I'm not too proud to admit that if my Unimog camper was at this angle on a side slope, my pants would not be dry. A very nice looking truck, and well-equipped. Might be a good thing, temptation-wise, that it's still too new for US importation. (Go for it, you Canadians.)

US Highland might be up and rolling again.

I've got a feeling that if we were in charge of American Honda during their horrific drop in sales since 2009, we might also make the decision to produce a motorcycle that will appeal specifically to people who don't currently ride. It's not meant to be cross shopped with KTMs and and Husabergs...

FS: 2011 Mercedes Sprinter 144" Highroof Camper Van-only 8100 miles

Help. It's my shortcoming, to be sure, but what does "SPF" mean? Strictly Platonic Friend, Sun Protection Factor, Sender Policy Framework . . . these don't make sense. My best guess is "Sold Pending Funds." Is that correct?

    Sidecar Magazine - German

Thanks for the reference, Christian. I'm plenty sidecar enthusiastic, and you would have thought that year of German in college would have helped me out with the reading, but the skill appears to have vanished. But the Google translator did well enough that I could at least look through the...

    Samsung Galaxy Tablet [Android]

And I can chime in, too, as I now have the Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch, bought a couple months back at Costco. No downside to it that I can see, except what you'd expect from the modest screen size versus big fingers. It's not a rocket, but more than fast enough to do what you'd want to do while...

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

Yep . . . if I had it to do over. :sombrero: There's no reasonable place underneath the truck, but the very slickest setup would have been to custom-make a low-slung squarish unit that didn't go so far up behind the passenger's seat (to get back that seat recline) and then made up the...

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

OK, Sports Fans . . . we've figured out what happened. It turns out that during the summer, the web catalog for Reimo (the German Camping World equivalent from which Eurocampers orders parts) had this picture of a heat-exchange unit associated with part number 67013. This was the picture of...

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

Murphy's alive and well and feasting on global commerce. :( The water heater arrived about ten days ago. Faithful readers will recall I was trying to get this: Unfortunately, what we got was this: You may be able to see that this is a purely electric unit without a hint of the heat...

    1979 Mercedes-Benz G240 Diesel

The G240 sold for $15,813. That was by far one of the most uppity prices in an auction where lots of stuff went for under $2000. It's pretty interesting to page through the auction results http://www.auctionsamerica.com/events/all-lots.cfm?SaleCode=TB12 and see the prices the different lots...

    Lexus LX470 Rear Cabin Conversion...

More Fine Tuning of the LX Stealth Camper . . . Entrepreneurism abhors a vacuum, so there's an Australian firm called Shevron that makes a product called Window Sox. A Window Sox is sort of a mesh envelope--three sides closed, one open--that cuts a lot of the light, would keep out all insects...

    Pneumatic lift system

Thanks for this advice. At the moment, the current system works well enough that there's no motivation to take the camper interior apart enough to get at the cylinder connections, but if and when that happens, we'll make the modifications you suggest. I appreciate your expertise.
