I had no idea there was one down there as well! We were intending to go to Mission Wolf in Westcliffe, CO. Bishop's Castle is right down the road as well (http://www.bishopcastle.org/) and a friend reported that that place is an absolute trip, so that was our intent, but it will have to wait. I...
I know this isn't the usual for ExPo, but I thought I would try it anyway.
For those of you who would like to do more...Sweet Lady Chewie visited the vet today regarding her injured hind leg. Unfortunately, it was bad news. Her pelvis is broken in two places and she needs a massive surgery...
Sometimes even the best laid plans get thrown out the window and this weekend was certainly a case of that. The wife and I intended to head down to the Sangre Cristo mountain range intending to visit Bishop's Castle, the Mission Wolf sanctuary, then culminate the weekend by running over Medano...
As a follow up to the whole healthy (borderline obsessive) quest to prevent rust, I pulled my sliders off a few weeks back with the intentions of re-painting them. The Rustoleum auto enamel paint wasn't holding up as well as I had hoped and there were several areas where it had chipped away and...
Pardon my ignorance, but will this be a street legal rig upon completion? Just wondering if it will still be doing travel trailer hauling duty as well.
The Icons are hands down a much better damper than the OME. Like, not even in the same realm performance or construction wise. The only arena in which the OME are probably better (other than cost of course) is durability, though I have nothing other than anecdotal evidence to back up that claim...
Another little thing I accomplished this past week was trimming the pinch welds on either side to establish clearance for the sliders. I put them on when the truck was relatively new and hadn't completely settled, once I started to settle a bit I would get contact with the slider legs on harder...
One thing that has struck me as a definite minus of the truck since the beginning has been the abysmal light output of the reverse lights when trying to back up at night. In urban settings they are mediocre, once I got away from any ambient light contributions they are pretty bad. Backing into...
A few weeks after that we headed to Crested Butte for the annual Wildflower Festival. It's kind of a neat place to be anyway, it was super cool with all of the flowers at their peak. It is a subtle show but majestic when you find the right pockets. Anyway, onto the pictures! And sorry for my...
Bumpity bumpity! Got a little bit of catching up to do.
First up with a trip for my 30th birthday. The wife and I stayed local and went up to Breckenridge for the day before retiring to the woods by Keystone.
Happy birthday to me!

And on the way...
Sure! That's the big draw to the adjustable coilovers. You can add preload to gain back lift back as you add weight. Keep in mind though that there is a point where you can't crank down any longer without getting coil bind and will have to step up to a heavier coil. Otherwise, it sounds like the...
Cool! Thanks for the introduction to the metal shrinker and stretcher. I wasn't familiar with those. It's always nice to have the right tool for the job, especially when its something obscure like that.
I'd get whatever leaf springs flex the best for you then use Daystar cradles and airbags. That setup wouldn't restrict droop yet would still provide support for towing. User Zidaro on this forum has a Tundra with that same setup and it appears to work well for him.
First off, hell yes! Sounds like you have the ideal situation to pull this sort of thing off and I will for sure be following along and rooting for you. I'm sure there are plenty of us, myself included, that chose a different path in life and are curious to know what it would have been like if...
